It’s better football, but I’m not going to agree it’s more entertaining. Lots more weird shit happens in CFB. And regardless of the quality of play, no NFL game has ever been as fun to watch as a game where Alabama loses.
No one in this thread has said they hate the NFL or anything close to it. I enjoy it and like I originally said, it's on in the background most Sundays for me, I'm just not planning my life around it.
Tenn-Alabama last year was more enjoyable to watch than any NFL game that's ever been played. Spoiler Kidding, kind of.
During the glory days of the BCS you could maybe lose 1 occasionally 2 games, anything else any you were out of it, that means almost every single team was playing the spoiler Think you’re going to cruise past a 5-7 state team and go to the national championship? Think again
IMO College football can be a better product and more enjoyable to watch than the NFL, which is the highest level of play. To me, CFB is infinitely more enjoyable than the NFL. I don't hate the NFL
From a sheer quantity standpoint, I don't think this is true. There are 14-16 NFL games a week? There are 60 college games? Claiming "great college games are few and far between" is just flat out fiction
This is the secret sauce. The NFL has games with players who are indisputably more efficient, better trained, and skilled. Even the very best college teams are still loaded with kids whose brains aren't finished developing, who make panic decisions, that create a chain reaction of insanity. I will take the unpredictable chaos of a random college game over the boring efficiency of a typical NFL game every time.
Plus you only got one shot at each team every year, went 11-1 but lost to Auburn, get ready to fucking hear about for 365 days
Plus in the NFL they legislate the rules down to where every offensive play is a gain and every game fits in a perfect tv window.
this is where I’m at. I used to hate the nfl for many reasons not worth getting into, but the product is much better, even with my connection to duck football. I’m thinking interest in college football is waning and quickly
I’ll be honest, the stupid conference commissioner make CFB much less enjoyable. Everything has to be a battle instead of doing what’s best for the audience .
The bottom feeder SEC schools (and Bama) trying to keep an 8-game conference schedule so they can get to 6 wins and the Poulan Weedeater Bowl is frustratingly stupid. The SEC brought in two of the biggest brands in college football and we might end up in a world where Texas and A&M aren't playing annually in the same conference. That is fucking absurd.
i think CFB is going to get a nice boost in watchability from the running clock. The NFL is the best in part because it's such an excellent TV product in ways that a 4-hour CFB game can't be.
i agree now because my nfl qb is v good but when i was watching a huard brother or matt cassel as opposed to a chip kelly offense on saturday my opinion wasn’t the same weird i know
If they gave Alabama: Auburn Tennessee and Mississippi State (the team we are closest to and have played the most) as permanent rivals it would be 9. But they tried to screw us.
Yet we’ll get another year of media telling us how hard the conference is. It’s quite the little system they’ve set up.
It is just so difficult in the conference you can’t expect them to schedule tough games outside of it.
Kentucky beats ball state, EKU, and Akron to open the season…rises to 15 in the polls. Goes 5-4 rest of the season, never leaves the top 25 and thus gives quality wins all over the conference! Rinse and repeat for 2-3 others every season.
this is likely mostly revenue from crop and meat judging thanks to the two pillars of this conference, Kansas state and Texas tech
How many years does UC need to be in the Big 12 before we won’t get the Bengals/NFL treatment from the league officials
