If ND joins any conference, it will be the B1G. So why would the SEC back any playoff plan that forces that? That's a message board and Twitter threat. Conferences won't be forcing it as some sort of unified stance.
Is this a notre dame thing where you call any negative comments about the future of the Irish business model “message board and twitter” stuff? Two of our esteemed Irish have done it in the last hour.
They don’t need to join a conference, they just need to force the ACC to vote for playoff expansion instead of killing it like last time.
CBS leaks the $75 million number about NBC and ND, but the current contract is $15 million a year average with $22 million this year. The current Big Ten estimates for football only are $1.1 to $1.25 billion among 16 schools, which is in the mid-70’s without ND. With ND, it’s probably pushing $85-90 million a school.
No. I'm saying message board posters and Twitter users are the only ones actually throwing around threats of some kind of playoff squeeze out. Conferences won't do it because it would just push ND to another conference.
AZ schools, Utah, and Colorado to Big-12 becoming all the more likely. Who knows maybe Ducks and Huskies can show themselves worthy of Big-12 invite.
A guy that plays tennis with your football coach’s brother said Arizona is going to the Big 12. Put it in stone
Is the B12 interested in Cal and Stanford? Because it would be super funny if they are left with Oregon State and Wash State.
I feel like those schools would rather end all sports than associate themselves with the Big 12. Cunty bastards deserve whatever they get. Stanford has an outside shot at B1G perhaps
Well they likely will soon get to make that choice. Be cool though if Cal just told their debt holders they are stopping payments on the stadium, come repossess it.
My two cents… In a perfect world the PAC-12 wouldn’t have had leadership and on the field performance in the big money sport that sucked ass over the last 10-20 years but we did. I know Arizona did. We stood still while other conferences had leaders that led and had teams produced real results in football. Now, the bill came due. Now, I get a little sick joy out of the non-USC/UCLA Pac-12 fanbases turning their nose up at the Big-12. Seeing Utah, ASU, and other delusional fanbases talk about how they’re too good for anything other than the unattainable pipe dream? That’s good stuff. Utah and ASU to B1G/SEC, just wait lol.
amazing lack of self awareness. luckily the new 988 hotline got done before they’re left out and BYU is in
If you're one of the desirable Pac 12 teams I don't know why you wouldn't just wait for the next round of realignment when you'll get a much more desirable offer than the Big 12 can make.
Because if the 4 corner schools leave those desirable schools(Oregon and Washington) are going to be playing in the MWC and what if that offer never comes or takes a decade? The Big 12 is going to be the stronger league and projected to make more money. The only downside to joining the Big 12 is the $80 million exit fee for leaving anytime in our lifetime.
If I'm Oregon/Washington/Cal/Stanford, going independent for a decade is more attractive than settling for a second rate conference forever.
Good luck getting a TV deal against the Montana's and Wyoming's of the world when no one watches your games already.
