That “it’s not called ‘laborism’” quote from the Uber Eats guy really sticks with me anytime I see someone touting capitalism’s successes now
Exactly. Mother of three who makes 14k a year saw a 33% increase with the stimulus for her and the kids isn’t something to celebrate.
i'm not quite sure how to articulate it completely, but people like me (and including me) using the gig economy to make their lives hassle-free and 'seamless' at the expense of workers getting paid and treated like shit is gross. "Uber servant, please drive me to my destination, but god forbid you try and speak to me. do your job, peasant" or Walking through a city and having 10 UberEats guys on bikes waiting outside of a restaurant for their next order to ping is dystopian as fuck. I justify it by trying to tip well and not using that frequently , but of course there are documented instances of that tip getting stolen by the app.
That kind of stuff is always an "accident" but those "accidents" never happen in favor of the laborer
It won't. The minute the GOP is back in power the breaks are going back to the top 1%. They've already said it.
meanwhile, here on Earth, Texas is recasting the KKK as the good guys. Also, it appears as if Israel is about to launch air strikes on a Vermont iced cream company
It’s wrong to say they are recasting the KKK as the good guys because that assumes that they were ever casted as the bad guys.
That's because of the growth in home prices, and 1-50% are unlikely to have any assets beyond their home.
So, the bottom 50%'s net worth gain is the same as the cumulative gain of Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Dan Gilbert, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, and Bill Gates in 2020.
I love how we need to put a lens on everything. Does this same person point out that in absolute terms the top 1% pays 40% of all income tax, and the bottom 50% pays 2.9%? I bet not.
I hate her entirely too much to say what I think of her looks wise. You'll have to fight me first sir
You ever just stop and think how stupid you have to be to come to these conclusions? Sometimes I am fascinated on how minds like these, in theory, work.
I completely agree, I mentioned it before, but it bears repeating; the quality of his posting has increased ten-fold recently
