I happen to believe that the only way the democrats are ever going to become effective is by fundamentally changing how they operate. I also happen to believe that that will only happen if those currently in power, who have demonstrated their ineffectiveness, fail miserably. Jmo
unfortunately they aren’t going to change because the system still works for them even when “they are in shambles”. So them being is disarray gets more republicans elected and hurts the poor and POC more. So while I hate the democrats as much if not more than most I can’t find any joy in their failures. If there was a party that would help those in need then I’d root for the gop and democrats to both be blown up.

They can’t because of the filibuster and wishy washy Dems but even if they did, this court would say that law was invalid. So we’d be right back where we are now. The only reason to do something like that would be to hammer home to the general public how awful the Republican Party is. I don’t expect the Democratic Party to do anything that ever points out how awful the Republican Party is though.
Sure, but that's exactly the time when you should be striking when you know it would hurt the business the most. I'd just like to see them frame that better like say "Workers striking over unfair work conditions and salaries causes customers to scramble for thanksgiving dinner." You can acknowledge both parties' gripes with the situation, they chose only to acknowledge the customers and make the workers look like the bad guys. With that said, it's also why the media is garbage because they will never frame striking workers as anything but bad people
They can’t because I don’t think there’s a plausible argument that Article I authorizes Congress to legislate on the topic. At most they could attach it to a funding bill, i.e. providers who accept federal funds/Medicare must provide access to abortion services but even there there are limitations and exemptions that states and health care providers would exploit.
That isn’t what prevents them from passing such a law though. What prevents them from doing it is the filibuster and wishy washy democratic senators. Whether any court would allow it to stand is irrelevant in the environment we live in right now.
