i think it’s closer to 6’8 400
Correction: He’s the one who beat his then pregnant wife, because nothing says you care about unborn children than beating a pregnant woman.
Lopez is a piece of work
The Lopez campaign would not answer questions about how the plan would work unless 9NEWS’ Kyle Clark would agree to a second sit-down interview with Lopez “face-to-face, to give you the exclusive here at the Campaign HQ in Parker, CO.”
FYI he got bitch slapped quite badly by Clark in the first interview...did not go well.
John Fetterman would dwarf Big Show.
fettermans lost a lot of weight he's nowhere close to that photo anymore
Folks sleeping on Tim Ryan. Labor has a lot of sway in OH. He's the kind of candidate that wins the endorsement and have the rank and file membership vote for him.
I hope Fetterman can evolve a bit with respect to Israel...
Lol. Robots doing gods work and Happy Gilmoring all those L*BS to Havana
Fascism rises when capitalism fails
Fascism is the natural progression of capitalism
bless your heart
I’m pretty surprised by the Fetterman love on this board. He’s a progressive in name only. Dude’s policy positions (to the extent he has any) are centrist as hell.
He’s meme status atm. It will fade.
I honestly don’t know much about his policies and looked this up. You don’t know if someone is about it until they’re voting for/against. This high level shit is at least an improvement over Toomey (unless fetterman ends up voting like sinema), and he doesn’t accept PAC money.
His opposition in the primary sucked major balls though
And have you seen how huge he is
I think to at least partially explain this you have to ask yourself an important question. How many on this board grew up watching professional wrestling? Dude looks like he should be wearing a one-piece, boots, and knee pads while dropping promos on the campaign trail. I just hope he doesn’t turn heel.
No doubt. I’m just a little wary of a vibes-only “outsider” campaign.
Subconsciously, that’s probably why I’ve never really trusted him.
Definitely has the look of a heel. It’s smart to be wary. And I know nothing of his positions.
Oh sure. There's plenty to be wary of. I was just excited to see Nancy Pelosi’s wet dream lose and am hoping that that means something to the Democratic Party at some point.
Also, he opposes the filibuster and has supported M4A in the past. Those are two things that should be a minimum for Democratic candidates at this point.
Hasn’t he about-faced on M4A though? His campaign website is completely unclear.
Yeah, I don’t expect him to champion it, but I also don’t think he’ll be against it if someone else were to advance it though. His recent hospitalization will hopefully remind him how shitty the whole process is for most people.
People still think M4A is on the table in the next decade?
The more healthcare costs go up, the more outrage will grow. Some party is going to get a tidal wave of support by coming out in favor it at some point.
Either that or insurance/pharma dollars will capture all politicians and we’ll sink further into hell world.
Well yeah but who the hell thinks the former is even remotely possible? Neither party wants it and the SC certainly will not allow it
I’m not worried about the Supreme Court. If m4a makes it that far, we’ve won.
The Supreme Court is a hop, skip and a jump from outlawing birth control and birthright citizenship.
But they're nothing to worry about.
Structural changes to scotus or just ignoring its rulings as advisory only are closer to happening than m4a I think is the point
Yeah all this seems like fairy tale thinking
I think the idea any institution can just do very unpopular things by huge margins into perpetuity and maintain public support is more of a naive position
There's a reason scotus on big issues has largely followed what has majority public support and Roberts is losing his mind trying to maintain trust in the court
My point is not that the current court aren’t monsters - they are. My point is that if m4a gets passed, it’s because it’s incredibly popular and the Court’s opinions are closer to be ignored than they have been since Abraham Lincoln was president.
I don’t think the GOP plan intends on maintaining public support in any branch of government at any level to maintain power. Especially not when their political opponents let them continue to act in bad faith nearly without any accountability.
At some point (maybe we're already there), public support will no longer be relevant to the equation
So basically we need another civil war-type event to open up a world where M4A is possible.
"Ignore the Supreme Court" is some level of revolution that I don't see the D party rising to
I don’t think it necessarily rises that far. The court’s been ignored in the past. A president could do so again. No doubt his opponents would seize on it to paint him as a tyrant, but they’re going to do that already to any president that passes m4a. Mandating m4a continue after an unfavorable Supreme Court ruling seems much easier than enforcing abortion rights will/would be. That will, unfortunately, lead to a war.
then you got balkanization to look forward to
and the political harm of ignoring a very unpopular decision isn't even likely to be harm with how disliked the court is now
Doesn't hurt he looks like someone you take your car to to fix it.
fetterman is just very good at politics as well. he's got lefty cred by being a bernie guy in '16, pro weed, etc but they'll overlook some of his centrist positioning on israel and fracking etc while that gets his moderate cred up.
the being a giant thing is just bonus
Biden needs to be out there talking about the role of government and it working to stop the baby formula crisis. Needs a photo op driving a god damn forklift unloading pallets. Then, 10 more photo ops personally feeding the babies
The lady at the local grocery store who was stocking the formula section told my wife, “we could fix this by driving to texas and taking the formula from all the people crossing the border.” Good times.
Fetterman appeal seems to be more about rhetoric than policy. Dems desperately need a rhetoric overhaul so it makes sense
Yeah, well, my most based opinion is that Dems would have more success and more broad appeal if they nominated cooler candidates and not geriatrics and sentient fence posts.
I don’t think there is polling to back this bc it isn’t asked but physical optics I feel is more of a swing factor and it usually isn’t acknowledged by campaigns or voters. Fetterman looks like a guy that can get in a Biker Bar Brawl part of a party some consider ‘pussies’.
it is also why I think Whitmer would be a good National candidate bc she has that hot soccer Mom thing going and being a Governor she seems way more in touch in what average people are going through compared to D Senators who some have tunnel vision
