its fun that our police forces are just unquestionably gangs that reject any democratic oversight "do what we want or there will be violence"
Luckily they have the life and career skills to assimilate back into society. Who am I kidding, they’ll head out to the suburbs where they live. All I can say is well…bye.
well daddy I’m on 2 lists bc I watched it twice treat them like Reagan treated the air traffic controllers imo
It’s fucked up to think about that we have to wait for a generation of children who grew up being gunned down in school to reach adulthood before we may start seeing meaningful action taken on guns. Even then we might have to wait longer until the Supreme Court is flipped
Hard to quantify, but she may be the most evil human being on the planet right now, moreso than Rupert Murdoch, given how much influence she has over Justice Thomas.
Who should we back? The people who educate and raise our youths or the ones that beat and murder them?? Really difficult choice here
Considering the average age in Congress, they’re gonna have to be old as dirt til things change, not just adulthood.
I keep posing this question at work (which is all top 10% people). “I think it’s pretty scary at the top right now, but don’t you think a lot of people in the middle and bottom don’t really care what the S&P does, their wage is up 35% from 3 years ago?” Lots of headless chickens right now, that I don’t think have any idea that the bottom 50% who don’t own stocks or illiquid rate sensitive investments (or 90%) are actually doing better than they have in decades, relatively. And that 90% is what drives a consumer based economy. anyway.
Favor - in this or the Trump thread someone shared an article comparing the relative tax burden for most taxpayers in CA and TX and how TX is actually higher despite no state income tax. Can anyone point me to that article? Tyvm.
But we're all tied to it now because we can't retire if the rich don't do extremely well. Nice little trick they pulled
Not sure if this is the article that was posted, but there have been a few lately citing this list/data https://wallethub.com/edu/best-worst-states-to-be-a-taxpayer/2416
thread: I'm really shocked that the GOP would call hearings so they can express performative outrage about the District of Columbia. *also, fuck you to the democrats and Biden for throwing the District under the bus. Either you're with us and support DC statehood or you can go fuck yourselves too.
If you don’t support authoritarians using violence for political purposes you support terrorism. A classic.
Trump did it the correct way in Rubio's mind. Those republican dipshits brought in the dictator to speak to congress didn't they?
My boss just got back from an Israel "trip to the Holy Land" vacation. They are republican, and were surprisingly disgusted about what Netanyahu is attempting. Almost positive they don't know he is doing it in part to avoid corruption charges.
The way the republicans are handling this dc thing (being racist but being kinda savvy about it) is one of their best moves ins while. Usually it’s just throwing shit at the wall.
When Burchett was in the TN state legislature, he sponsored the bill to make it legal to eat road kill in the state of Tennessee. The logic behind the bill was to scoop up freshly struck deer on the interstate and serve the venison to orphanages. A fine enough notion if the US in on a 1942 meat ration. He is a fucking clown.
Guess what, their support of the GOP has absolutely helped enabled his very behavior. I'm sure your boss is genuinely too stupid to make the connection though
To be fair to my boss, the Democratic Party’s unconditional support of Israel hasn’t helped the notion that America doesn’t care if Israel isn’t a democracy either.
I bet he thinks these people need to pull their bootstraps a little harder to afford to pay for healthcare.
As it does with Braidwood, the PrEP mandate substantially burdens the religious exercise of the remaining non-Braidwood Plaintiffs. And like the owner of Braidwood, these Plaintiffs object to purchasing or providing coverage for PrEP drugs because they believe that (1) the Bible is “the authoritative and inerrant word of God,” (2) the “Bible condemns sexual activity outside marriage between one man and one woman, including homosexual conduct,” (3) providing coverage of PrEP drugs “facilitates and encourages homosexual behavior, intravenous drug use, and sexual activity outside of marriage between one man and one woman,” and (4) purchasingcoverage of PrEP drugs by purchasing such coverage for personal or business use makes them complicit in those behaviors.
