WI GOP secured a senate supermajority last night. They're gonna impeach the entire democratic party as a start. I'm not sure how a republican doesn't win WI in '24. It's a tyrannical rubber stamp now
We pretty much have all the data we need that people don’t really like authoritarian power grabs, taking folks’ rights away, dubious claims of election fraud, and generally discriminating against powerless people. You know, the entire GOP platform in 2023. If they want to continue playing that game, it’s a highway to losing elections.
It’s republican/chud math but authoritarian rule but the small majority is a reason for 2A leftists to be strapped. Republican leadership is comprised of Neanderthals, religious zealots, and Ivy League grifters. The first two are who I’m genuinely afraid of.
When? Because they're still winning them. I agree, if they fail to achieve full unchecked authoritarian control, this will ultimately all crumble catastrophically for them. I'm not convinced that happens or even starts to happen by 2024
only in the senate. They don’t have it in the assembly and they need that to impeach the SC, is what I read.
People will suffer which is a depressing fact. Look at Kansas under brownbeck and we know how this ultimately ends.
don’t know that they have the humanity/humility needed to work in the multicultural field of construction
Yeah it’s reprehensible and the idea she’ll be some backstop against the republicans after giving them a super majority defies logic. She ran a couple months ago on a “progressive” platform defending LGBTQ rights, etc. it’s disgusting
Yeah man people need to get the fuck out of Florida. Let it become the deep red hell state those freaks want it to become
I'm telling yall, he's made himself king here and he punishes anyone that dares question him. And I've said it before, but Florida isn't Alabama or Mississippi where it's 80% red. They've used a slight majority to completely take over the state in a very short time.
Don't doubt all of that could have happened, but she's a nut and really a reliable source on anything. A few weeks ago, she went on a rant about Matt Gaetz having gay sex and about to be made public. Again, another thing that could easily be true, but wrong messenger
“Wisconsin Republicans now control 22 of the senate’s 33 seats after Dan Knodl, a Republican, narrowly defeated Democrat Jodi Habush Sinykin in a special election to represent a district that includes Milwaukee’s northern suburbs. Republicans also control 64 of the state assembly’s 99 districts. The Wisconsin constitution authorizes the state assembly to impeach “all civil officers of this state for corrupt conduct in office, or for crimes and misdemeanor” by a majority vote. A two-thirds majority is required in the senate for a conviction.” They have a majority in the assembly to impeach and enough votes in the Senate to convict. However… “It’s also not clear who qualifies for impeachment, as the constitution does not define who is a “civil officer”. But, the only state impeachment ever held in WI was that of a judge in 1853 who was ultimately acquitted. Evers’ term doesn’t end till 2027. Not sure if he would get to appoint judges to replace any that get impeached, but if he does then they go after him first. If not, I would bet they go after the newly elected SC judge (Rs have already suggested impeaching her while she was serving as a Milwaukee county judge). Rs in WI are like a cornered animal- the new SC is likely to invalidate the current maps and they know it. I would t put anything passed them, including mass impeachments of judges.
If you’ve ever doubted her claims about the state lying and manipulating thee Covid stuff in Florida I think it’s become pretty obvious the way the state has essentially been weaponized to intimidate and harass her that she was always telling the truth on that situation
Bro Matt gaetz literally had like a live in pool boy. I know GOP politics goes from one scandal to the next, but don’t tell me we’ve already forgotten about his “son” Nestor https://www.theroot.com/we-ve-got-to-talk-about-matt-gaetz-and-his-son-nestor-1846536883
The allegations are fucking disgusting. 160 priests, 600 kids, rape, choking with rope, Russian roulette.
Yet the biggest concern is drag shows, which to my knowledge do not have a history of systemic sexual abuse and cover up.
Said in the post I don't doubt it's true but she probably shouldnt be a trusted source. Go back and look at her tweets about Gaetz. She threw out a ton of accusations including claiming she had photographic evidence but can't release it because it needs to be verified then never spoken about again. If you scroll through her posts are all heavy on the hyperbole. She also was fired from both FSU and LSU and had criminal charges stemming from issues with harassing and stalking former romantic partners that may have been students. I know it's kind of shooting/discrediting the messenger but I'm also not convinced that she is a mentally stable person. Kind of the left's version of Laura Loomer
Listen, obviously there are drag queens hiding out at these religious institutions doing there. There's no way it's actually any religious people Spoiler
