That actually has much less impact than it seems at first look. It only bans like 5 routes from ORY within France and flights from CDG are excluded in deference to all the connecting international traffic.
A guy who lived in Gwinnett county told me he flew from Atlanta to Birmingham and I was aghast. He spent more time driving to Hartsfield, parking and walking to his flight than he would have in a car. That should be illegal
worked at an airport in college and we had 3-4 daily flights from columbia to charlotte and vice versa 20m flight
Feel like you could get through security in 12 seconds at Columbia airport. Assuming many were connections anyways.
Tallahassee to Atlanta is a 45-minute flight, but it’s a 4+ hour drive depending on traffic. Don’t take that from me.
Not to mention, look at the murderers row of whip-smart repubs they had to battle to pass their impressive agenda.
Marie ran on, I guess now, a faux-progressive wave by kind of linking herself with Bernie. I guess her being a champion of 2A rights should have been a big red flag. Ironically I think her district would have been red had it not been for strongish youth turnout.
Yep, she rode a wave of "I'm a millennial who knows what rural Americans really want" to her election then immediately allies herself with a group bankrolled by defense contractors.
It's kinda the Elder Millennial version of Liberal to Conservative. Start out center-right as a kid, become a socialist for a while in your 20s, and then the SECOND you become stable you become a suburban liberal with your rainbow flag facebook profile picture while voting to increase police funding to keep the homeless out of your neighborhood.
Dumb question: Is it better for the environment to have one flight from Atlanta to Birmingham or 150 cars?
The quickest flight I ever had was south bend to Ohare which was only 17 minutes, but it’s a three hour drive with traffic and then parking and shuttle. It’s just expensive af
We have a flight from South Bend to Chicago (either airport). it's 74 miles as the crow flies. We also have a train that takes about 2 hours and the drive is about an hour and a half. With security etc. the flight is longer than either other option.
you could easily look this up to ballpark it. and LOL at the thought of sending a 777 sized plane from ATL to Bham.
I occasionally make the ~50 minute flight from Dallas to San Antonio to visit my parents while my dad is withering away from cancer. That avoids the 4.5 hour drive down I-35 that can easily turn into 5-6 hours. Give me a hide speed rail that stops in Austin & San Antonio and not only would I use it, I would probably have made twice the amount of trips over the past 1.5 years. Our country is so fucking dumb.
Virtually everyone going BHM>ATL is connecting in ATL. I’ve been on that flight hundreds of times. I did take a Megabus to Atlanta a few weeks ago because my wife was already there and I didn’t want to have two cars. You’re welcome for my service.
They want to default and are going to lose their mind at the toothless deal that happens which will only give Biden more leverage
Because they don't need the crazies, if they won't give their votes at all the median vote they need moves left.
yeah, fair, I did get up to Elk Grove yesterday in just over 2, but traffic was oddly light except for the 55 interchange.
Not only are the supply bottlenecks of the pandemic gone but a majority of Chinese factories are way below capacity and we're seeing that they are starting to price more aggressively as they get desperate for business. We are not seeing that our stateside pricing teams are prepared to give away any of the increases they've passed on recently.
Yeah I had to do a double take on that too. Absolutely cringey, just make a normal account name like a grown up. blowjob
The time to cut spending was in December, Mike. Your colleagues outvoted you then. Nobody wants spending cuts.
IRS thing is so legitimately stupid and every gop attack is geared toward helping the super wealthy/cut income tax rates and inevitably increase consumption taxes. Like how difficult is that to see?
Very when you’re trying to communicate that to people who think Biden is trying to arm the IRS to vigilantly audit the middle class.
If I can take a flight or drive from Point A to Point B, I’m taking the flight 95% of the time. Flying is 100x safer than driving. I don’t have to worry about unlicensed, inebriated, underaged and distracted drivers when I’m in the air.
Also depends on the route. The drive from Phoenix to Vegas is about 4-5 hours vs. a little less than an hour flight. But a lot of it is non-interstate desert wasteland that at points are two lane roads. Did the drive once and would need a really damn good reason to opt for that over flying ever again.
Anything less than 3 hour drive is a bit ridiculous to fly to imvho. The only real exceptions I could think of in a totalitarian world where I rule all would be having to go through a mountain pass during turbulent weather. hth
