maybe that’s how we fund tmb island? Really would feel bad if he went to jail but they were basically insolvent precovid, owed multiple suppliers I know personally well into 6 figures over terms. Got a million on the first round, I know they reduced their sales staff from probably 20 to about 14 and laid off a number of office staff. Sold their biggest brand and got a check, then claimed they were down 25% from covid hardship (but it was really just the sale of a brand they got a fat check for) so they got another million on the second round. Still haven’t rehired the positions 3 years later.
I knew someone who knew Mitt personally for a long time. The Mitt they knew vs the public Mitt seemed very different, which is probably the case for most politicians. This Atlantic piece was a great read. He mentions deciding against an independent run because it'd only hurt Biden, but it would have been fun to see a 'mainstream' candidate stop caring about winning and only run to bomb throw. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazin...omney-retiring-senate-trump-mcconnell/675306/
Failson: exists Uh, yeah is he in government or connected to anything at all besides being a failson? No. .............ok
See see how these kids of rich and famous people can just go around being entitled pieces of shit with no repercussion?! Yes?
Need to drug test all purchasers of guns to avoid this from ever happening again. Only way to stop these kinds of heinous crimes.
What are the chances Hunter is indicted if he's not the son of a very famous person? The amount of people that have lied on that form is enormous. Weed is still illegal federally. All that investigating and that's what they came up with? Count One accuses Hunter Biden of lying on an ATF form when he bought the gun, by falsely swearing that he wasn’t addicted to illegal drugs or using illegal drugs. It’s a crime to knowingly make a false stamen to the federal government. Count Two accuses Hunter Biden of lying to the federally licensed gun dealer in Wilmington where he bought the gun. The alleged lie was related to the same sworn statement on the ATF form. Count Three accuses Hunter Biden of illegally possessing the gun while using drugs or being addicted to drugs, which is a federal crime. He possessed the gun for 11 days in 2018.
Can’t wait for Hunter to challenge the constitutionality of the law preventing drug users from purchasing/owning guns. Really hope he wins.
I know people who have been busted for alcohol/drug related stuff, not related to a weapons charge, who were subsequently charged with what Hunter got when they found out they’ve been treated for addiction issues and had purchased a weapon. None of them are rich/famous.
"admitting to being addicted to drugs" seems pretty subjective. tons of people have issues admitting to addiction. And addiction is kind of a fluid concept. Also, I'd say 5 to 10% of gun owners in the US are addicted to some sort of drug as well.
I'm sure the right will be consistent and run to his defense of exercising his second amendment right.
Now tell me how many simply use drugs. Remember, weed is an illegal drug. 25%? 50%? How many millions? I'm all for holding people responsible and I'm not going to stan for fucking Hunter Biden but this feels like giving someone a ticket for going 2mph over bc you couldn't find anything else and you wanted to make your boss happy. This is the question:
the best thing for maybe our entire democracy is to lock this stupid crackhead up until after the election.
Disagree. I’m perfectly fine sacrificing Hunter in exchange for making it more difficult to buy a gun. Drug testing to purchase followed by random drug screens to maintain possession sounds like something a well-regulated militia would do.
With no statistical backing, I believe that such law is unconstitutional, Tommy, because it is both under-inclusive and over-inclusive as to the purpose of maintaining a well-regulated militia, as there most certainly must be plenty of people who do not use drugs who still fail to meet the definition of "well-regulated" and plenty of people who do use drugs who actually could meet the definition.
Republicans have proven to be allergic to practical solutions to almost any problem, but what is this administration’s fix for managing large amounts of immigrants in major cities? If there’s a coherent federal policy then it is really getting lost in the news of clickbait headlines.
It will only get worse because climate change will continue to push more people North due to less arable land south of the States. I’m not sure there really is a humane way for Congress to deal with it but I’m sure more Republicans will start pushing for mines and attack drones at the Southern border while being cheered on by Evangelicals.
I always get suckered into watching those GQ "x actor breaks down their most iconic roles" and it's almost never interesting
Or maybe it’s not a problem. Maybe it’s an opportunity. It’s just people we are talking about. the problem are republicans who create problems from this like in Florida when you suddenly have a labor shortage because you eliminated opportunity for good hard working people who are trying to contribute to society
this seems like the worst media week for Biden since Afghanistan, even with w a foreign trip the knives are out. Politico writers pissed his team doesn’t leak and they can’t stumble onto a story at a DC Restaurant. and NBC ‘serious news’ scheduled a Trump interview
Some signs racial depolarization is ongoing but that's also pushing more whites into the Dems. Could get some wild maps that put Texas in play while Biden underperforms in deep blue vote states. Same reason Dems did so well in midterms while facing a 2.8 percent house deficit
