538 desperate to cast the Tuesday election night as not indicative:
But the population of Americans who cast ballots in today's races will not be the same population that turns out next year. There is strong reason to suspect it will be more Republican-leaning than voters today. Because higher levels of education are correlated with political engagement (i.e., turnout) and, increasingly, the likelihood of voting for Democrats, off-year voters have become more reliably Democratic in recent years. But in presidential years, when more voters turn out, outcomes revert to the mean. "Low-engagement" voters, who are on average less educated and more Republican, show up. Per ABC News's exit polls, 46 percent of people who voted in Ohio today said they voted for Biden in 2020, versus 43 percent for Trump. That's an 11 point swing from 2020 just because of the types of people who cast ballots. As another example, Democrats did not perform nearly as well in Rhode Island's congressional special election today, with moderate turnout, as they have been in recent special elections, where turnout has been lower.
fucking nonsense. Old conservative fucks who don’t work are consistent voters in off year/non-presidential elections. The simpler explanation is: abortion. An uptick in liberal election turnout in places where abortion is a key issue is obvious and apparent. It’s that simple. And as strong of a unifying single-issue voter influence destroying Roe has been for conservatives for decades, the whiplash is going to be as strong in the other direction now for those that seek to fight for women’s bodily autonomy. They fucked themselves electorally by catching the car they’ve been chasing all these years.
I’m behind so this might have been asked and answered if so point me to the answer. Up 2016 I had never voted Democrat. It was always 3rd party Green or Independent. Before that to the major choices were akin to choosing Coke or Pepsi slightly different choices of the same product. In 2016 I felt that was no longer the case. The difference has only grown wider since then.
So my simple question is what do you do? Not vote and maybe help the gop win or say fuck it and vote GOP? It really seems like there is no logical alternative to voting democrat.
Yes, you dumb republicans, continue to double down on abortion, then go after the most popular pop culture icon in the world. Nothing will go wrong, you have my word. Your chud base will retweet you, that’s what you really want.
Swifties hopefully help overcome younger voter trends in polls.
PSA bedwetters said Dems confirm the recent polls re young voters. “Oh no young disaffected voters are hard to get through to. Also, they definitely participated in these polls.”
the answer is don’t be an idiot and do nothing about warning signs. But, also, don’t piss your pants.
All troubling aspects of our current political realignment aside, it is incredibly funny there is now a direct line between being uneducated and being a Republican.
Man Bidens just cooked I tell ya.

You mean a new generation of voters who have grown up caring, super inclusive and looking for rights for themselves and others in ways people haven’t been since the 60s is opposed to genocide? Don’t these people pay astronomical amounts to consultants? What did they think the reaction would be to young voters?
Shocked SHOCKED! I'm sure all the posters saying this war would end if "Hamas would release the hostages" will absolutely acknowledge this.
