I’ll prob slam a door on my hand on Election Day to distract from polling disappointment as results roll in.
Soooooo... This guy running for GA Senate needs to raise $$$ asap to expand his digital. He has a target universe of about 17k folks that need to get 7+ impressions each over the 9 weeks from Labor Day to Election Day. While digital is the most cost effective way to do it, it's still not cheap. If you are able to and wanna help, you can do it here... https://secure.actblue.com/donate/flipsd18
mf talkin crudites and didn't even grab blue cheese or ranch for dipping why bother eating carrots and broccoli raw if you're not going to dunk them in 85calories of mayonnaise?
I feel like there's an actual good and compelling story to be told with the exact same major plot points and characters. But this obviously is not it
The sad thing is Dr. Oz isn’t wrong. Produce is insanely expensive compared to shitty junk food. That isn’t a Biden thing though
Oz actually meant “coup d’etat”. He feels like Jan 6 would’ve been more successful if the fascist horde was better fueled.
It's a video summing up thousands of pages of documents that made up the climate bill. In short: it's a big fucking deal and an actual reason to be hopeful for our future(as far as climate is concerned). Check the comments on the video for some rare optimism. It's worth the 22 minutes to know wtf you're talking about if you have any inclination to discuss "what has Biden done" or climate change in general.
legitimate climate activists and researchers being very happy was a big tell that it was legit not to mention that there's multiple levers in the bill that can easily be scaled up in future budget negotiations without needing any more real legislation, which i'm sure was touched on as it's maybe the singular thing climate activists see as the real path
I had briefly listened to kasparian on the young Turks saying it was going to be a disaster environmentally as it gives a ton of leverage to non renewables but that was pre final bill.
the kind of dim lefty criticism I saw around creating a 1:1 green vs fossil permitting process was dismissed by all climate activists i saw as just looking for something to complain about (vs actual things to complain about that exist in the bill). historically fossil fuel companies don't use a fraction of their approved permitting but now it upscales green fuels access dramatically from baseline. if that's what you're talking about
this may be one herb gets right. Ryan is just more authentic than Vance. Even the chuds smell a “rino” and Ryan has the labor vote. Now do I think it will happen? No, because Ohio. But it’s absolutely plausible.
I was listening I got to something (don’t remember what, I was traveling a lot) and the main points where that there were some fossil fuels points in that would be short term but it’s very good for the long term. I know it isn’t what progs wanted, but it’s far more than has ever been done and it’s a start.
In politics always follow the money. The GOP know they are screwed in the Senate and will put all their effort into flipping the House. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/15/us/politics/senate-gop-ad-wisconsin-pennsylvania-arizona.html
I've never heard of a Wegners before. Is that a new grocery store chain or did he mess up when trying to say Wegmans?
He messed up which is particularly funny given they’re constantly ragging on him for being an outsider and out of touch (even tho there are Wegmans in NJ too)
We can't even get people with multiple personalities not allowed to be governors; how tf are we supposed to keep them from buying guns?
Holy shit, I did not know you needed a prescription for a hearing aid. I'm guessing that's not the case for the majority of the world.
Vance has so many advantages in this race, and so far, he is wasting them all. He’s going to get truckloads of money dumped on him now that the national GOP appear to be abandoning Oz in PA. What I find most amusing about Vance is just how much he hates to campaign. He doesn’t appear live anywhere unless forced.
its impressive how many races this cycle the GOP have made basically non-competitive through an inability to put up good candidates
I have to disagree with Dougie here, I don’t even really get how God married Adam and Eve. There wasn’t even a witness, and don’t say cows and ducks and shit. There is no legal documentation for Adam and Eve’s marriage. Hence, we are an entire race borne out of wedlock and therefore, by their rules, irredeemable gutter trash. It’s all making sense now.
Republican primaries are a race to the bottom, where each candidate tries to outflank the field to the right and low turnout leaves the worst of the worst voters deciding who will get the nomination. Then you have Trump, tipping the balance on behalf of high profile candidates who have never run before. It’s great.
The weirdness of the GOP holding off until after the midterms to attack Roe could be a historical political misstep. They could have waited one year but flying too close to the Evangelical sun might bite them.
Gay marriage is absolutely next. There is no point that they stop until a series of elections stop them.
