I just mean that unless he goes for full legalization, the police still have the same opportunity to use their power to put POC behind bars. A change from Schedule 1 to Schedule 2 is moving marijuana from the heroin category to the fentanyl category. Obviously there are plenty of people being imprisoned for fentanyl possession, and the same can still be said for marijuana. Sure it’s a step in the right direction, but it’s just a step. It’s very similar to what Biden did with student loan forgiveness. 10k was nice, but it was far from complete.
Ok again? In no way, shape, or form was I commenting on what this move will or will not do. I was just stating why it was scheduled to begin with.
I wasn’t trying to debate you. I was commenting on how the announcement today isn’t as big of a deal as some of us wish it could be. The facts that you pointed out will unfortunately still be true.
Yeah - it's a pretty disappointing and meh statement. I don't understand why it's so difficult for her to just fully go for it
Yeah sasse has an all time bad voting record, it would be difficult to be far worse. At least rubes like trump can still support the concept of the federal government spending money to make the lives of people better, no idea what at all would be missed with Sasse gone
As an avowed liberal, I’ll also point out that Biden ignored the traditionally liberal aspect of government and acted unilaterally to do the cool things. (Suppose you could argue about him having the mandate of the people to act unilaterally given that electoral politics handed his party both houses of congress but still)
Man she sucks so much. Infuriating in a state that for once has a real opportunity to have a Dem governor.
Something about the music and “be Americans first” feels like we’re in a dystopia. And he’s by far the good candidate.
Always enjoy his tic when he gets a little too sassy and he realizes it so he has to immediately go with “no think about it, I’m serious here”
shame it doesn't seem like we will get 52+ in the senate and a house to support the final 2 years of his second term, but oh well.
Ofc he sounds like an old man when he speaks. It is kinda hard to listen to. Hopefully he can be convinced to take a bunch or bullshit executive action to do good things and people can be reminded it’s all able to be undone by gop so let’s keep voting Dems.
When they do anything, the energy and momentum for the Ds is palpable. You can feel it. Maddening that they won't just open the flood gates.
while I agree isn’t something better than nothing and or regression? How about we don’t get big things but we get a bunch of medium things that would be better than what we’d get under the republicans.
