think this is basically the final sticking point
if the parliamentarian actually approves it then things get spicy
think min. wage gets dropped and gets pushed to its own legislation.
Imagine voting against money for essential workers in a pandemic
so at that point is the most likely scenario it passes and republican try to challenge it in court?
I’ve never been less certain of something than of who this might be.
Looks like this is the leader in the clubhouse for being the guy.
There are areas of Connecticut that are extremely red. Not so much the states rights kind, but poor whites who think the world has screwed them over by allowing immigrants and people of color to succeed. They try to claim that’s not it, but they’re not smart enough to do more than thinly veil their racism behind religion and limited government.
Cancel culture out of control
More like CanceledPACulture
Oh so now we suddenly don’t care about the First Amendment? WELCOME TO JOE BIDEN’S COMMUNIST AMERICA!!!!
I would guess most of them
Biden did another unity
This is how you get stuff done in Congress.
I think it passes budgetary standards personally (just a hunch) and then the fight begins whether you can get Sinema and Manchin to vote for it or it's negotiated down or thrown out completely
The politics of that I think will be too tough for them to sink it if parliamentarian OKs it
Maybe I'm wrong and they're that deranged but this always felt like posturing for when they rule it ineligible. If they don't its a live ball as they say.
Update (2/22/21): CPAC has cancelled Young Pharaoh’s scheduled appearance following the publication of this article. Young Pharaoh’s information has also been removed from CPAC’s website. The theme of this year’s gathering is “American Uncanceled.”
That sucks. Hopefully, it allows advocates and groups to put maximal focus on passing it.
I guess if it’s passed then you can point to a greater number of helpful leg from the Congress. That said, I’d rather not assume any victories.
“America Uncancelled. We want to say the N word with no consequences.”
People who lost their fucking minds at Kaepernick
Well, her detractors can never accuse her of playing dumb.
Such a bad Trump imitation.
Oh he was definitely not in the poor area that's for sure.
All fun and games when it is Neera. Not fun and games when it is someone legitimately qualified and worthy of serving in the cabinet.
I lived through the Trump years but it’s impossible to remember how awful and unqualified that whole fucking admin seemingly was. Geez.
Bernie thinks they ok it but hard to tell who's posturing and who's not
. I’m dumb
Neera is not the nominee for Interior Secretary
Oops I assumed that’s who she was speaking off. Didn’t know these Assholes voted no again
he hasn’t (yet). But he’s certainly being an obnoxious shit over what should be a formality.
It’s so ridiculous, like u wanna cook Neera fine, but if he says no to Haaland it’s cause a firestorm for him because that’s gonna piss off everyone.
It’s gonna hit us all in different ways at different times until we’re dead. Just an insane bunch of lunatics (assuming they don’t retake the government and behave even worse which is a bad assumption).
He's probably going to whine about her policy regarding energy extraction on federal lands then confirm her. What a fucking asshole if he wants to stop her confirmation over no significant issues
Sinking Haaland is a completely different kettle of fish than Tanden.
erling haaland as the secretary of goals should be the next cabinet nomination imo
Her fate depends on if she tweeted anything mean, because that matters now!
Yeah, you probably can't sink two women of color nominated to the cabinet without that bouncing betty going off
*until he goes to citeh then we have to pull back that title
I'm enjoying the cowboy cosplay from everyone running in that district.
did she get a discount on her logo design or was moving the first name inside the box enough to charge full freight?
I like doing this and inviting Tester to the Oval Office. Democrats are slow learners but any indication they are capable of the feat is nice.
B: Prime Minister Trudeau, nice to talk with you. What's shaking up there?
T: Nothing much, President Biden. You get the card I sent?
B: Yeah, very nice. Jill got a real kick out of it playing a Hail to the Chief when we opened it.
T: Nice. My chief of staff had the tech boys cook that up. I guess we fight about milk and timber trade now?
B: Ehhhh, I mean if you want.
Canada has a mandatory retirement age for senators at 75.
We should do that.
