Anyone else catch this last night? Thought it was very intriguing and potential for some phenomenal acting Cliffs: murder mystery set in upper crust California town
Thought it was good, definitely intriguing as you said. And I will tune in just for the real estate alone! Also not to be a dick but Monterey Coast probably a better descriptor than a California town.
Sure. I for one didn't know about Monterey and if it's a well known place but I suppose it is. Looked tight as hell, would love to vacation there
Enjoyed the first episode. Part of me wants to read the book now instead of waiting 6 weeks for the finale.
We read this book for TMB Book Club. Book was not well received. Could see it being better as a series. /shutupbooknerd
Episode 2 was weak....I'm sticking around cause of the great cast and I wanna know who did the murder. Early prediction.....sarrsguard
Saarsgard is out of his mind! But he's not the killer....the constant choking is there to throw you off
watched all 4 episodes so far yesterday. I'm hooked in the soap type of addicted. Reese is amazing. Shailene is a little weak and Nicole was a bad ass in last night episode I feel like Reese and Dern, one of them is the killer
I think I figured it out One of the twins is the one assaulting Abigail because they see the father doing it Jane kills nicole's husband because he is the one who raped her
I've gone from "I'll watch this dumb shit because my wife wants to" to pestering her with theories on who is hurting Amabella, who kills who etc
Same Started watching because she wanted to and now I am hooked Pretty sure ziggy is not hurting a Annabel and it's one of the twins Who kills who is anybody's guess but thinking it's Nicole who gets killed or kills her husband after she finds out he was the one who raped Jane The best possible outcome would be a full frontal from Reese !!
Biggest takeaway.... Nicole Kidman looks hot as fuck. I mean... she is getting better and better with age. My God!
I feel like Reese is involved with the murder somehow. Either a victim but maybe it's the play director, out of jealousy? Or Adam Scott, talking about beating someone's ass because he never stood up to the bully in the past. Great scene btw
I'm meeting with that guy for rep. I believe he is the rapist but you never know. When shailene went to smell him, was she confused? And it wasn't him
100% not him I also think Nicole's husband has a double life in the town where that guy lives and just happened to use that name when he met Jane because he knew the guy
Good point. My original thought was that Skaarsgard did it but then it seemed like this guy was the one the way they did the flashbacks in his office. He seemed completely oblivious though so maybe it wasn't him
I thought that at 1st, maybe she gets killed by accident It could be several of them Killed Nicole Her husband Jane Reese Her husband Laura dern Killer Same list
Sorry, I was using his real name vs. name in the show. I'm always surprised, when I really think about it, by how many shows I watch regularly and can't name the characters. I know everything about them but can't recall their name in the show. This happens with Mad Men constantly
Just finished episode 4 starting episode 5 now, so haven't read thread yet but wanted to post while I had this on my mind. It's for sure Celeste's kid(s) who are bullying that girl right?
Okay just read the thread, glad I'm not the only one who thought this. As soon as Reese showed Jane the pic of the Saxon guy, I thought "Is that Skaaragard?" Looks like I'm not the only one. I like the idea of Reese killing him on Jane's behalf, but it's hard to imagine it's not Jane if she finds out 1. he was the guy who did it and 2. He's the reason ziggy has been getting blamed for everything.
Having loved the book I'm definitely watching. Been a little disappointed so far, but I guess that's the case with high expectations. Plus, I hate Shailene Woodley, so that doesn't help. Both Reese and Nicole are phenomenal - as well as Laura Dern. A lot of it comes off WAY more dramatic than in the book, though that's probably to be expected. One thing I really don't like is the side-storyline with Reese's character and the dude from the play. That whole story (including the play itself) were completely absent from the book. I think it changed her character too much, in a bad way. The book version of her was definitely self-centered and extreme, but always with good intentions. I don't think that portrays itself here.
