244.0 I think about the same starting weight as last time. Going to start walking/jogging and lifting today. More water and real food is the plan. Cut back on Dr Pepper.
Up to 30 people paid. Users below expressed interest, but haven't paid or weighed in. LMK if you're still interested. I think I've been removing ppl that have said "No" Shunface Taques Tecumseh yesman
Sir, I had a turkey and spinach wrap with some carrots for lunch and a tall glass of water. It's not even 350 calories total and it's what I eat most days when working from home. Nonetheless, I don't actually see any rules prohibiting someone from gorging before their first weigh-in. What I did wouldn't qualify even if that rule did exist but, based on OP, it doesn't.
Day 1 Walked Dog for 30 Min Lifted (Lower Back Hurts ) + Jump Rope/Burpees 10 rounds/3 min Gonna do some Yoga once child goes to sleep tonight
What’s everyone using to track calories? I remember using MFP but heard it wasn’t any good anymore without the scanner
Using Myplate. Works fine, though I've had to manually input a few things I thought would be in the database.
I'm going to try Lose It! this time. I used Noom before but the food database isn't great and reviews for Lose It! were much better.
What up duse, I paid for MFP so I can track macros. The paid version has the barcode scanner and a lot of other add-ons. Worth it IMO. Makes macro goals very easy to set and track throughout the day.
Day one: 50 minute chest workout, burned 535 calories. Couldn’t do cardio because all of the machines were taken thanks to the new year crowd. Side note: after two weeks off still can get 4 plates up. im doing 18hr. IF, eating at 12 noon and then again at 6. Intake was right at 1500 total calories. This is where I struggle the most because I love snacking and sweets, so far so good for the first day. I may join the crowd and download Lose it! to try and keep me motivated.
I've been actively dieting since Jan 1 but haven't lost weight in a few days. I only assume my body was waiting for the challenge to start so it could begin dropping Lbs. Also I'm pretty sure I'm the lightest guy in the challenge
I’ve been tracking macros since after thanksgiving and have lost a little over 15lbs so far, seems like that has really worked for me, mostly because there isn’t anything that is totally off limits.
Day 1: Decided to eat a huge “final” meal as I wait for the scale to arrive (thanks amazon same day shipping ) Felt guilty, got 20 minutes on the Peloton and a light lift in
longish personal motivation rant Spoiler I'm pretty confident this is the time it really sticks for me. I've always been motivated mostly just by vanity, but that becomes less important with marriage and kids. I always played a lot of sports and stayed active with weightlifting so it never got too bad. +/- 15lbs most years at worst. since COVID, and corresponding to the birth of our 2nd, my activity has really fallen off a cliff. Lately I've noticed a little extra struggle for just basic things. Little extra needed to get out of bed, maybe a little deeper breathing going up stairs, hell even a struggle to bend over and put on socks if the pants are a little tight. Sometimes I'll do some fairly basic thing and the next day feel like I did a full body heavy lift. For the first time ever, I can feel what it would be like 20 years from now if I don't address it now and just slowly let my good weight wither away, replace it with bad and become more sedentary. For extra motivation, both parents had big health scares this year and one of those turned into a real thing. All that to say, for the first time ever I'm motivated by more than just vanity, it's about quality of life, doing things with kids and just living a long and healthy life. I'm confident that's going to stick, and even amplify once I start to feel a bit of the effects.
It becomes habit when you're less obsessed with mirror results and more with how it makes you feel. All of the sudden a year or two goes by, you're still in routine and you also happen to have the vanity side where you want it to be.
