Walked 18 this afternoon. First time doing it in years. Nice and relatively easy way to get in 5 miles
Me, last weekend: I swear I'm going to take it slowly this time when I get back to the gym. Me, today: Everything hurts.
Me, 5 minutes ago: I swear I’m going to stop drinking and eating 2000 calories of garbage after a few drinks every night Me, tomorrow early afternoon: meh what’s one more day
244.2 Is this showing up on anyone else's computer. It shows on my phone, but just barely. Doesn't show worth shit on my desktop though. I'll go ahead and order a new scale anyway. Also, just realized my dumbass put 2022 as the year, wonder how many times I've done that at work and didn't realize it. Spoiler [\spoiler]
Down about 8 this week (water weight, no doubt), had been steadily seeing about a pound or two a week for the past 6 weeks or so. I’d been eating less of the same things. This week I started making better food choices in place of some of the junk. Slipped up last night and had raising canes and had a CFA biscuit and some powdered mini donuts this morning. Back on track this afternoon.
Also, something pretty hilarious. Dole very cherry fruit cocktail can had a blurb on the back that’s says something like “Making it healthy is easy!” And on that section it’s like serve this stuff on ice cream with chocolate syrup for a healthy dessert. That’s America in a nutshell fruit can.
Down a little over 7lbs since weigh-in Monday. Anniversary dinner tonight so hopefully I don’t go too far overboard
Been trying to cut out as many sugars and carbs as I can, and trying to perfect the air fryer chicken wings :)
Down 2.5 pounds so far but a lot if probably water. Doing 20 miles on peloton a day plus trying 16/8 fasting and keto. Trying to cut alchohol out completely, as it seems the 2-3 glasses of bourbon in the evening lead to snacking binge. As an aside note, there any rules about TRT on this competition? Started it back about a month ago and feel incredible with it so far. Levels to start were 232 which is super low for 34 - think I got screwed up after some inflammation after my vasectomy.
I mean if it’s a medical thing you’re doing and it causes weight loss then I don’t think anyone is going to have a problem with it. A few competitions back the winner came from the back of the pack in final week via some seriously dangerous tactics to bag $1,000. Mainly, don’t do anything extraordinary or dangerous and you’re cool. It’s about health and if you just need $700 and don’t have other means, we can help you figure that out.
How long does it take you for 20 miles on the Peloton? I can’t stand more than 20 minutes, but can go hours on a treadmill.
Took me a 20 minute and 45 minute workout to do it. I used to do a elliptical a lot, but fractured my heel about five years back after a fall off a ladder so biking is best bet for me now.
Just been reading the board for years. Used to be on the old rivals boards. I'll pay my dues, but I'm not here for the money. I would be a cool bonus, I don't need it I'm thinking of the buy in as a tax to keep me accountable because I need to lose some weight. If someone thinks I did some sketchy shit I'll pass on the money and be happy with the improvement.
231.8 > 228.0 week 1. Feeling much better already, but a long ways to go. just counting calories on MyPlate and doing a 4 day weight split, making sure to get 10k steps on the off days
244.7 > 244.5 Week 1. Ate better during the day at work. Exercise should start to fit into my life better this week.
Had a good week 0, drank a million bottles of wine with my brother & his family in town. Back to normal today and Wk 1 weight will be Friday or Saturday
253.7 this am. Down around 3 pounds but most of it water probably, but sure there is some actual weight in there.
Week 0: 329.6 Week 1: 325.6 (-4.0) Counting calories along 20 mins on the Peloton and light weights. Feels pretty sustainable so far even with a busy work week
Initial 244 Week1- 238 (-6) Making weekly challenge with myself. First week was to lift 4 days and 5 days cardio. Will build upon that this week. No Dr Pepper before lunch. Haven’t had any so far and will work out when I get home from work. Good job guys!
If I can give a piece of advice for general weight loss to keep in mind beyond this competition, don’t rely solely on the scale. It trending down helps, but also pay attention to how you look in the mirror/how clothes fit. Scale can get skewed by water, food in your system, etc. So remember it’s just one data point.
Before/After pictures are clutch. When I did the contest a couple of years ago, I “only” lost like 25-30lbs but the pictures made it way more noticeable.
Good point re: the scale. I’m 6’5” 270lbs right now (which is the biggest I’ve been in my life). I can ‘lose’ 8-10lbs in 24 hours without trying too hard. It’s not real weight loss even though the scale says so. Everyone comes out hot the first few weeks of these comps wringing their bodies out like a dishrag. It’s fine, but it’s not the whole story. (I’m not calling anyone out itt. It’s just how it goes.)
Initial- 178.4 Week 1- 176.8 down 1.6 wish it was a little more but I think that initial weigh in was after dropping the initial few pounds of water weight
I’ve got an ortho appt for my back tomorrow but, assuming that he tells me to lose weight and exercise and not that I need surgery, I should be in tomorrow. 50/50 chance of me being a big guy or a little guy.
Some cells are protected, but should be able to edit the weight entries. bama1 had some issues on a mac tablet, was working through it. You can't edit the embedded sheet in the DM. Need to open
Week 0- 220.4 Week 1- 218.8 Actually had a 217.2 last week, but ate kind of crappy over the weekend, and then had leg day yesterday, which always makes me hold onto to water.
