Billions - New Showtime Series

I checked out in season 5. Absolutely loved the first 3 seasons. Going to keep my eye on this thread in hopes that it wins some of you back over

 

strong, strong start to the back half of the season. a couple of the episodes in the first half of season 5 definitely jumped the shark but this week's was playing the hits.

 

what the hell was that scene where chuck was cooking eggs

 

I was wondering that myself. Why did we need a scene just watching him make breakfast?

 

So the daughter is for sure going to tell on chuck for smoking weed in some way right

I think it was an attempt to show that he's quite skilled in hatching (!) a plan and seeing it through to its hoped for end.

Like his cannabis meeting, to set up Axe.

That said it was pretty, pretty bad.

Like the show has been for a couple seasons now.

Kind of makes sense given what has transpired in Damien Lewis’ private life. Probably wants/needs some time away.

 

Didn't realize they had dropped new episodes in September. Will have to watch these when I get caught up on the new Goliath content.

 

Definitely. I read some articles about that after I watched the finale. Had no idea he’d lost his wife to cancer. Still bummed about the decision, but certainly don’t fault him for it.

Show jumped the shark a while ago.

Axe being gone can only help continue the spiral downward imo.

 

Thought the second half of this past season was good. Felt more like early Billions. As long as Wags is around I’ll keep watching.

 

Wags is the best, but Axe is the catalyst of everything. Hard to imagine the show is any good without him.

We’ll get a lot of chuck getting whipped and Dollar Bill/Mafee vs Prince/Taylor. It’s going to be like season 8/9 of the office except worse.

 

I’m on season 2. This show stinks. Hope it improves.

 

If you don’t like the early seasons, it’s not going to get better for you

 

i'm finishing season 4 and i fucking HATE Taylor and their whole storyline/investment group

 

also Brian and that other protege of chuck's fucking sucks too

 

I like both of them for the most part. Sacker gives me the bonks.

I had randomly discovered it before watching season 5. I actually like the way they wrote him out. Leaves a door open if he ever feels like coming back.


Also crazy thing, didn’t realize Mafee and bill talked about starting their own shop in passing in season 1.

 

I might be out on this show. Will give it a couple more EPs but wasn’t a fan of this first episode.

 

i assume it was intentional that chuck doesn't know how to start a diesel tractor engine

 

I just started rewatching it.

 

I actually really liked the first episode without Axe.

 

Haven’t watched yet but I clicked on an article about an exercise bike and got a spoiler.

 

chuck has teeth that are literally sharp and well worn. i like this about him

 

I’m rewatching through. The law students in season 5 make me want to climb gouge my eyes out. Their righteous indignation and sense of entitlement makes is all too true of so many people today.

 

Struggling to get through the first of the new episodes. I don't like the Prince character and he's the main focus
The Prince story line is poorly planned and executed . It's not intriguing and is just bad writing.

 

This season fucking sucks.

 

Feel the same way. The Olympics thing is just bizarre, and I'm not sure why they thought that would make sense as a main storyline.

 

I think they just get through this season and hope Damian wants to comeback.

 

There’s just so much other good tv on right now. I think I need to accept this as a sunk cost and move on

 

Chuck Rhodes is still one of the best characters on tv though

 

The Michael Breed cameo was some of the worst acting and television I’ve ever seen.

 

I didn't even know who he was and figured it was some sort of Cameo but didn't care enough to look it up.

 

They went from celebrity chefs to that guy. The cameos are on the same trajectory as the show.

 

Maybe I'll come back to it but I didn't even finish the episode

 

I just watched this weeks ep. Not sure if I’ll even watch next week. It’s become unwatchable

 

On youtube tv it is waiting for me Sunday morning - I watch in bed only cause I'm not doing anything else

 

I did appreciate the subtle princess bride quote in the most recent episode.
