Maybe to a few posters, but it seems like Napier was Stricklin's top target based on how quickly things progressed and never hearing strong rumors about targeting anyone else.
It could certainly work out and definitely won't be worse. I was just talking about honing in on one guy and immediately doing the thing
What's a Napier staff look like? I wanted belk for db coach a few years ago. Houston has fuck you money right?
Can't speak for other sites, but on here is was pretty much Napier, Lane, and Mario as the top 3, probably in that order.
I think this is somewhat out of context to the point. No, you don't get 2-3 years to become good. Building a program is about sustained success, not "can you be good in year 1 or 2?". Muschamp went 11-2 his second season. Then he went 10-13 the next two years. Mullen started 29-6 and finished 6th in the nation each of his first two seasons, won the SECE in year three, and then lost 9 of his last 14 games before getting fired in year four. Both of them had early success. Neither built off that success. That's why they were fired.
technically it was G5 Manny for like 18 hrs before Blake James paid Temple $4 million to bring him back
He was the best recruiter on our staff when we he was at Clemson. He just needed to get away from Dabo because their styles clashed. And Dabo, not the best play caller obviously, was stepping on his toes.
Well I can tell you guys that many members of the gamecock home board are not impressed with this hire one bit, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up about this new hire if I was you.
Really liked Napier, hope it works out for Florida. Would've liked to see him stay in state at LSU oh well.
To be fair, he was wooed by the part of Mullen’s personality that was his wife sticking her tongue in Stricklin’s mouth.
Why? No different than their responses to us hiring Norvell. He’s a good coach but it’s not like it’s Urban or Lincoln Riley.
Crazy to think this thread was already on page 2, and Napier was just hired lol. After the events of the day, I have to say I’m completely okay with the low-key search, choice, and reaction. Besides USC, have to feel like the winners of this madness.
Is getting takeout food out of a hot box not a pandemic thing? I wouldn't assume that's normal practice.
Times must be tough if you have to pump your chest at beating a team that hasn't made a bowl during that time. Feeling a little robbed at where you stopped on the carousel?
Ill forever enjoy FSU losing to a team lead by Greg Knox in the way you’d be enjoying UF losing to an FSU team if it was lead by Willie Taggart
but in hindsight I’m sure we would have never heard the end of it, and the laughs would have certainly been deserved
Apparently this dude is coming with BN, used to coach at #LSU Tigers and was a very successful HS coach in New Orleans at Edna Karr https://ragincajuns.com/staff-directory/jabbar-juluke/425
Smart. I don't remember Juluke being a great coach, but the word is that Mickey Joseph won't still be on staff and Juluke will give an inroad into NOLA.
I like the option to try and recruit LA a little but trying to continually pull LA kids from LSU/Bama seems like a losing strategy - regardless of the relationships Napier has with the hs coaches there.
