Hes credited with coaching Guice and LF4 but both were clearly monsters when they enrolled. He’s not listed as recruiter on either, which is interesting.

LSU passed on Napier. Florida passed on Kelly. We’ll see how it plays out

 

Stricklin made the right hire in Mullen 4 years ago. He didn’t work out but given the production of every other coach in that cycle, it was still the right hire.

His job may depend on Napier being the right guy because passing on 2 guys that are probably going to produce wins in bunches(and at least be in championship contention), even despite the money, will be a really bad look if Billy doesn’t produce at UF.

Nah not any more than already comes with a top-tier job in the SEC. Just a little spin zone PR to appease the segment of the fan base that wanted an established name, and to sell to everyone (and possibly himself) that he made a smart choice.

Also, potentially, to cover the fact that Riley turned us down the same as LSU. And UF wasn’t willing to meet the price tags of either Riley or Kelly.
