Lagway is starting against Samford. Unfortunately he’d be better off with one of us calling plays straight from NCAA 25.

 

Yeah there’s some hope for the UF defense. Ward was making some insane throws in that game. They can improve but man o man… nothing I saw from that offense made me think it would be anything other than a long ass season

Mertz won’t play another snap because they’ll be desperate to keep Lagway unless he sucks too then they’ll 100% blow everything up

 

A little of both of the above. Mertz’s concussion gives them the excuse to play Lagway. And I’m sure in the back of Billy’s mind he’s hoping that if Lagway is a generational talent at UF that he’ll get enough credit to save his job. Reality is to maximize Lagway’s career they need to move on, and we should bring in an offensive HC that can keep him excited to stay.

 

I figured they'd transition to him eventually for the same reason, but I thought this week was bc of injury. Just seemed like they would've waited longer w/o the injury.

 

Despite the fact that the offense is limited under Mertz, and that Billy is already a dead man walking, I have no doubt that Mertz will be the starter against Texas A&M in two weeks (no matter what Lagway does on Saturday).

 

If Lagway lights up Samford and Mertz starts and struggles in a loss against A&M, I don’t see Billy still having a job by MS State.

Barry Odom should be at the top of a lot of lists and I think Florida should look at him. Guy has done great at UNLV and was a great recruiter in the SEC. Also brings one of the best up and coming OCs in Marion, who’s also a great recruiter

The Brennan Marion hype is justified though, someone in the P4 needs to bring him on board.

 

Mizzou was a shit show when he was the coach there. They didn’t have the support for the football program that they do now

 

Our fanbase had a little love affair with him before the Denbrock hire, guy is legit and runs a fun offense.

 

Idk Mizzou was better under the guy before him and after him.
