The pie was awesome. As were the biscuits, mushrooms, potatoes, sausage, 22 oz dry aged steak, grouper and Iberico Secreto. Definitely my favorite restaurant in town right now. Can't imagine a better place to go with a group.
Similar thing happened at Turtle Point in Florence a couple summers ago. Some new hire was given free reign with the chemicals and fucked up like 11 of 18 greens. Took about a full year for the greens to fully recover.
Valley Hill in Huntsville lost all 27 a few years ago when a contractor sprayed the greens with the chemical they use to treat weeds around ponds. It took 12-18 months to recover.
Yeah, I'm not exactly sure what this guy used but the story was that he used like 10x the amount of chemicals he was supposed to in his mix. There were like 3ft strips where the grass and root systems had been completely killed so the dirt was a good inch below the green elevation where there was still grass. Made for some interesting putts. Was lucky enough to grow up playing out there. Still one of my favorite places to play. Don't get back nearly often enough these days, though.
man i used to play valley hill all the time growing up. My grandparents lived on Lily Flag forever and we used to always take the cart out when we visited. Pretty tough track and it's nice having 36 holes.
Played this summer at a Steven’s Point CC in Wisconsin. They got over 5 million bucks from DuPont who killed thousands of their trees and it really improved a course that probably wasn’t going to make it. Different situation when you fuck it up yourself

I (unfortunately) learned something new today. Apparently the roaches at my old house were smoky brown roaches. I hate those assholes. I killed a 2" long one tonight here at the new place that is not a smoky brown roach, but rather an American roach. That asshole was ugly and huge, but apparently they usually only come inside occasionally, so that one probably got lost, thank God.

Haven't been there, but I have a similar question. Work friend in town. He'd be good for whatever, but we'll have a tag-along who probably only eats burgers and whatever. They are staying in West Homewood. What's good between there and downtown that we can do...probably ETA of 7 or 7:30PM, and might get a drink elsewhere afterward.
