Grit shows nothing but old westerns. Many of which have white dudes in makeup playing Native Americans. I'd assume something like that.
I can't find a Jackson MS thread. Anyone got good recs for food there? I'm staying downtown in an airbnb for a couple nights for business. I eat pretty much everything except what Shooter McGavin eats for breakfast.
Ha, I'm driving, don't worry. But yes, seems that sort of way. Also tired of people telling me to bring bottled water, but hey.
So, this is like 7-8 blocks from where I'm staying (south of there). Walkable? Or is downtown "dangerous". FWIW I live next to Woodlawn and am pretty whatevs about "shady".
I’d probably just Uber if you’re planning on drinking. I think you’d be fine/safe, but no reason to risk it. Downtown Jackson has a lot less foot traffic at night than Birmingham.
Recently. I’m at since been clarified that Purdy declined to continue managing it and the owners are now deciding what they want to do
The Ivy is obviously a cultural institution but both of those Birmingham restaurants are average at best. Very slow service at both and more expensive than they should be. Curious to see if the new spot is any better.
"Lane Parke has become one of the most unique destinations in the southeast" Are you fucking kidding me? Just a destination for shitty chains for people who won't go drive the extra 6 minutes downtown.
It’s attracted some local spots like Sons Donuts, Melt, and the second post office pies location. This steak restaurant concept is probably going to live or die based off how it does from a corporate entertainment standpoint.
That’s what I was going for. Not a fan of any restaurant whose menu is centered around grilled Texas toast stuffed with more grease but yeah
