Ed's makes money taking animals to daycares and letting kids pet them. i have a photo of my 2 year old son touching a baby crocodile.
I can’t remember her name. She left school a year or two later. I remember her getting bit on the cheek. A buddy said wrist. Middle of the elementary school auditorium. But it was one of the first oh holy shit that just happened moments I can remember.
I once heard an urban legend about a teen who worked at Ed’s pet world that went missing and was later found ritualistically murdered out in the woods somewhere. No idea if there’s any validity to any of that.
Disappointing result but they absolutely weren't the better team. Have to be proud of the support and even most of the play. Our guys fought it out for sure. Not one to blame the ref and that one didn't lose it for us but he definitely sucked and called a bad game.
You can blame the ref. He sucked. You can’t miss an obvious handball. I wish 24 from Miami a speedy recovery. I’m not sure he will walk again after he was injured shoving a guy twice and then rolling around on the ground for 15 minutes.
What's the best brewery in Birmingham/Alabama thats stuff is reasonably wide spread? (I can buy it at a gas station/grocery store).
Cahaba, Trim Tab, Good People, Ghost Train all solid local beers that can be easily purchased at gas stations. Definitely others
PSA: Greensprings is rough as fuck, be aware of your surroundings, and people tend to get more easily agitated when it's hot outside. Spoiler I was accosted in the back of the Publix parking lot this afternoon, holding my 15-month old son on my hip, and loading groceries into the cab of my truck. (Insert Publix parking lot fight quip). Not sure what set him off, (I noticed him yelling at another guy who was leaving before coming at us) but an unhinged, 20-something, male approached us extremely agitated in a threating manner, yelled at me "white motherfucker", bowed up, aggressive af etc...he got within about 10 feet and boxed us in (parked next to a vehicle with my rear door open). I said nothing, kept calm, avoided eye contact, looked down, and just kind of shook my head to try and deescalate the situation in a non-threating posture. Thankfully the guy kept moving but holy shit was it unnerving to feel that vulnerable/threatened holding my son. I don't know what I would have done if the guy had come at us...thrown my son in the back of the truck, slammed the door, and tried to fend him off I guess. We never go to that Publix, it just happened to be on the way home, so we stopped. Don't plan on going back anytime soon.
We just moved not far from there and I prefer going to the pig on 31 or the Vestavia Publix. Green springs sucks sorry that happened and glad you and your boy are alright
Heads up gang. Looks like a pretty significant threat for this time of year. Work week looks wet as well. Not complaining, my yard has gotten a little crispy despite my best efforts
