Only if there’s room for another Southern fusion place with an updated take on smash burger that’s $20 over priced.
Just passed Randall standing in front of the pancake house in 5 points. Good to see him out in the community.
BTW hosting a work guest from out of town. Don't think he's the Otey's type, but is a chainsmoker. Does the Garage still allow cigs? What are my other options?
like on the patio? absolutely lol mom's also has lots of smokers. elysian gardens might also be a decent spot
I took my family to the pancake house about 6 months ago and that was the first time it really occurred to me how bad things had gotten over there. It was 10:00 AM on a saturday and there were probably 50 unhoused people out and about. Multiple guys coming up to us walking from our car asking for stuff, complimenting the looks of my wife and daugther (she is 5). Then there was a really strung out lady at the front of pancake house acting like she was a greeter or something. They were all really high. It was a tough scene.
Earlier this week a vagrant approached a coworker who was on his phone in the office parking lot. Coworker motioned to his phone and said “can’t talk I’m on the phone.” The guy got pissed, grabbed his hip like he was reaching for a gun and started chasing him saying “I’m going to blow your fucking head off.” I know there have always been unhoused people downtown but post covid it’s gotten really bad, especially with the aggressiveness, and I have no idea why.
Unfortunate you had a negative experience but I’d imagine a common one. Last time I ate at the Pancake house (many years ago) our hungover server excused herself in the middle of taking our order, ran outside and vomited right outside the window where we were seated. Pancakes Yum!
At this point, BPD is just responding to calls. There aren't enough people to patrol. That's basically what I've been alluding to with my recent commentary.
Last time I went to the Red Lion, some dude rubbed shit all over the walls of the bathroom and they tried to blame it on our group, which was wearing suits and ties after a Christmas cocktail party.
Interesting meeting. Neighborhood was overwhelmingly against the density. 1.7 parking spaces per unit—and some were 3 bedroom rental units
"Unique"...maaaaan not sure if that dog hunts. I mean, there will be plenty of parts of Crestline that won't be near this. Or am I missing something?
It’s homecoming so Barves2125 and One Two are slamming Natty Lights in the parking lot in their letterman jackets.
Anyone got a stump grinding rec for Bham? The tree service my neighbor got doesn't do it. I assumed they all did, or I'd have asked him to contract someone else.
I’m at the Crestwood Tavern tonight before I obliterate my 42 y/o body at the Sloss Furnace for this weekend
To go blast heaters with a TMBer or to not go blast heaters with a TMBer… Spoiler Feels weird using that face now
I’ll have a backwards LA Galaxy or LA Kings hat on this weekend. I’ll be one of those rare 40 y/o white buys with a beard and tattoos in Birmingham this weekend too lol
I watched UGA vs bama at the tav last weekend. Was a surprisingly good time. Entertaining spot if you can avoid too lengthy a convo with one of the regulars
Trent Dilfer is such a loser. Smartest guy in the room syndrome vibes from a real asshole. Just completely eroded what Clark built in short order.
RB from Tulane, Makhi Hughes, went to Huffman HS and has 119 yards on 15 carries with 2 TD's. You know he's fired up to be back home.
I root for UAB, but it's been fun watching Dilfer fail. Such a dickhead. That hire was so fuckin dumb.
