Amazing dinner at Automatic last night. 8 of us racked up a significant tab. Got a little out of hand.
That's pretty huge. Also cool it's at that location. It'll be nice when the urban development stuff links up with the neighborhoods in SW Birmingham. I think that's a multi-decade thing, but needs to happen.
Me and RJF-GUMP would crush Archibald & Woodrow’s on Greensboro back in the day. Then my brother lived right by Watermelon Rd in grad school so we’d hit up the OG then.
File this under the "I'm old" thing, but I didn't know the Refinery or Fennec existed. Are either of these places worth trying if I don't want to Otey's?
I’ve heard a lot of good things actually Also food related, Mas Sabor food truck off Valley is delicious. Tried it out for the first time today and the burrito is immediately top 3 in the city for me
I went to one of his games and it was pretty fucking cool. I remember there being a big ass billboard off the hwy with this batting average on it. It just went down down down
Caught a foul ball from him out in the grass down the first base line where kids would all just fuck around. Some kid twice my size punched me in the stomach and took it.
We saw him out at Senor Frogs one night(with his bodyguards) and my buddy went up and asked for an auto and was told NO with the quickness.
It’s a chain, apparently. We got reservations there a couple of weeks ago and I ended up changing them to go to Current after looking at the menu. I’m sure it’s okay, but it didn’t get me excited.
yea, it is, which, like you, nearly caused me to cancel my reservation lol. but glad i didn't, really enjoyed it. idk that it really has a niche--it's a bit like what the essential was in its heyday--but it's def a solid one to have in the rotation
Dogshit take still enjoyed the show, but yea, disappointing and also super MAGA and MAGA-adjacent crowd, which always baffles me
I don’t doubt the show was great. Looked at some of the setlist and they looked great too. That sad last album was ass
Show was much lower energy than when I saw them in Nashville in October, but I thought the setlist choice was awesome, particularly all the covers. By the end, they were rocking. Was great. While a bit disappointing it didn’t sell well, kind of makes sense when thinking about how this tour unfolded. Announced dates in spring 2024 with the closest show in Nashville. Due to demand for those shows, added dates to the tour, including Huntsville. Did the tour, killed it, went to Europe, then added more dates in general areas they had already visited (OB, Bham) on off nights (Tues, Thurs). Supply exceeded demand for this 9-10 month tour. Also Heard the promoter cancelled OB specifically because of poor ticket sales, taboot.
Jeffco hazardous waste drop off is popping this morning. I’ve been in line for 30 minutes to get here.
