We are going to current. Shockingly nobody wanted to get breakfast sandwiches at lags before the show.
brotha you gotta get your house in order! they have a full lunch/dinner menu that's fantastic anyway - been to current twice. enjoyed it but it's def pricey
So, the BWWB thing...obvious can see what's going on with a GOP legislature taking interest in this. But...could it work out better in the long run?
Just giving you shit I thought it looked awesome. We are going with a real highfalutin couple so of course they picked the place with the $70 plates.
Went to Bayonet tonight for the first time. It’s damned good. Very much focused on the raw bar, but very good.
I tried Burning Tree the other day and it was very good. Expensive for barbeque but everything is now and it was still very good. Has anyone tried Bruto in the cursed shopping center on Crestwood Blvd?
Can confirm that Bayonet is legit. A real raw bar is exactly what I wanted in Bham. I don’t want them to cook anything. Just keep the ceviche, oysters and martinis coming.
I also tried Wooden City last weekend. Kindof a weird hodgepodge of upscale casual American, but everything we ate tasted good. Service was a bit off but they were absolutely slammed due to the pre-show Shane Gillis crowd. Not sure I’ll be coming back much for date night, but I’m glad something is in that space. Could see myself maybe getting some drinks and eating at the bar every now and then.
Bruto's solid. good sandwiches, good coffee, good aesthetic if you're a wfh guy like myself and enjoy mixing it up with a coffee stop work day. pizza is kinda meh but i wouldn't really be going there for pizza anyway
I had no idea that was open. I live like a mile away. I feel like advertising should be doing better in this case...it's part of the curse. PART 2 Where do I get royal reds in town nowadays without selling a kidney? Only need a few pounds, but if someone's selling, I could definitely buy more and freeze.
Son of a Butcher occasionally has them but honestly the best quality ones I’ve gotten locally are Sextons in Cahaba Heights, enough so that it’s worth the trip
No one is going to post their cliff notes on the Dave Ramsey appearance at Church of the Highlands yesterday?!
It’s no secret that Joe Lycett loves the Brum... but his hometown is having a tough time of it. In his self-appointed role as the second city's ambassador (and with the blessing of the actual Lord Mayor of Birmingham) everyone’s favourite comedy activist is on a mission to put Birmingham firmly back on the map by coming over North America – home to no fewer than 18 Birminghams – stretching from Canada's Saskatchewan province, down the East Coast, through the Midwest and into the Deep South. Joe will explore their collective Brummie cultural commonalities and form official 'Friendship Agreements' with as many Birminghams as he can. To make sure he hits his climax of it all, Joe will invite some of his new Brum-chums back to his Birmingham for what will undoubtedly become an annual global event – the International Day of Birmingham.
I feel like I don't know Birmingham anymore, have a wedding at the end of the month and need hotel recs. Wedding is in Homewood and service is in highland Park area. Any suggestions?
Valley hotel if you have a lady to impress and a pocket full of money. same with the Grand Bo. if not just stay at the hampton inn 280 right there in Mtn Brook.
There’s an airbnb right past the green springs valley avenue intersection that looks like it’s part of an office building that people rave about.
Cliffs: 5 inning East West MLB exhibition game coming to Rickwood Juneteenth weekend. It’s former star MLB players
One Two can give you a loan. Spoiler: Tickets Friends of Rickwood Field Executive Director Gerald Watkins says the $12 tickets will provide a lot of value.
My advice is to sell them quickly if it's a lottery. I held onto my MLB tickets too long last time. Could've sold for $700/ea. the first day; waited, and they went down to 300. Ended up making like $50 total on them.
In my defense, I'd planned to get in the lottery because I was told you could get up to four tickets, and I wanted to take (some of) my kids. Sounded like the tickets were going to be cheapish, too, like ~$50/ea. Nope, I think the cheapest was like $250 for a regular season game in burning June heat, and it was a two person limit and I didn't want to choose which kid I took. Nope, I'll take the money.
I'm curious how that sort of arrangement works. Avondale just pays the BJCC? I've always wondered how things like this sift out.
