About to start working on the 3rd chalice dungeon.
The Lower one? I will probably be ringing my beckoning bell outside the boss fight on the 3rd layer for a bit in hopes of someone finding me. Not sure if we have anyone on here around levek 86 or not.
Man makes mockery of Bloodborne by beating it with a Rock Band guitar controller
lol fuck that guy i am having problems with the first god damn boss
That guy is fucking absurd. Shadows of Yarnham weren't the hardest bosses, but that controller mapping is hilarious.
Beat Rom v2.0 finally. Nobody answered my damn bell so it took forever. Don't even want to know what is waiting in the 4th level of that dungeon.
I want a new game...I should go buy this, right?
If you are ready to be Tydefan angry then yes.
Took down that bug looking boss that starts with an A working on chalice dungeons right now
The chalices, at one point go from hard to just plain fuckery. Extremely hard to take down the later chalices while trying to keep a build optimized for PvP.
For the record I care more about PvE so I'm more worried about Dungeon and Boss clears.
I care more about PvE too, but I don't understand how your build would differ that much for PvP and PvE in this game.
If you are interested in getting the max out of PvP, then you need to keep your build at a certain level. Souls games have an invasion/co-op barrier that is 10℅ of your lvl plus 10. So if you don't meet these standards with most ppl, you won't be able to invade them. The PvP meta in this game has yet to be made clear, but it seems it is hovering between lvl 75 and lvl 110. So its best (if you're lookin to PvP) to min max your characters stats to adhere to those levels.
I would be shocked if it stayed anywhere close to level 75. In past Souls games it has been much closer to 110-120.
Thats true, the difference with this game is that there are no equipment burden, less stats in general, and the fact that endurance is incredibly strong. Most ppl at bl 100 have end at 20
Tho 75 is really too low I agree
I am 90 and am probably gonna hang out at that level for a bit. Pretty good Bloodborne day though. Just beat the Bloodletting Beast after beating Ebiritas. Both were annoying.
I'm 83 now just taking my time I've never been one to rush through the Souls games.
I've got 2 characters in ng+ both at 100 and a third character I've got to 33 today. Bloodletting Beast was a fucker
I haven't hit NG+ yet. Just been running around doing things trying to farm up some twin shards, chunks, and some of these cursed gems these brain guys keep dropping.
On NG++ right now. I think I'm at lvl 150 Only have to do some chalice dungeons, get the 3rd ending, and get some kind of gem and I'll have the platinum. Haven't cheated either....my roommate does some glitch on his where you run around a table and get 12,000 souls (or whatever they're called in this game).
Moved on to DS2, Got a little way through NG+ and I have a time crunch with Witcher 3 dropping next month so want to knock out Dark Souls before then. Warning though, it feels REALLY clunky after playing Bloodborne. Animations and graphics are a huge notch below which is expected since it's a year old and originally developed for the last gen, but would have much rather played the two in reverse order.
Yeah it is quite a change to go from one to the other.
Combat is soooooooo slow by comparison. Endurance goes faster, it's like playing a totally different game. Still fun, but kind of let down so far.
Had you not played any of the Souls games before? Bloodborne is about attacking your opponent, while the Souls series are supposed to be more of a defensive combat or a flight response.
Been a couple of years, just a weird dynamic going from Bllodborne directly into DS2.
See Souls games are all about knowing the battle and enemy and moving in a pattern while Bloodborne is more of a reactionary combat. Very few enemies can you just Yolo against in the older games.
Gotta kill the Pthumerian Queen, get Blood Gem Master, and the last ending then I'm done. I don't stick with most games long enough to get the Platinum, usually. I'll probably keep playing this one after I'm done getting it, which says a lot. Best game out next gen right now, without a doubt.
Told Gehrman to go fuck himself. Iregretnothing.gif
Well to start new game + or wait till next weekend and hope my little bro got me Dark Souls 2.
Just need to beat Dark Souls 2 now to complete the 4 levels of video game hell. Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, and Bloodborne.
Bloodborne just because of the improved mechanics and dodge system is insanely easier than the other 3 games.
I would say that's true to an extent, but, there's nothing in DS1 as difficult as some of the later chalice dungeons. The Rotted, Fetid and Sinister versions of each chalice are insane, and the defiled pthumerian is next level frustrating.
Just beat SOS, the DS2 update for next gen. They change things up a bit in the main game, and the DLC's are all fun.
Well, I think I am going back to NG+ until Witcher comes out. Not sure if I just need a break before diving back in to a FS game, but I can't get over the feeling that if I had my Bloodborne toon, I could wreck Dark Souls 2. Unless I am spec'd like a total retard and/or I have a bad memory of being able to roll/dodge a lot better in DS1, then not sure what I am doing wrong, but I am sooooo bad at sword and shield. Maybe a dex build? Also, how fast a weapon degrades doesn't make it challenging, makes it annoying. Hope that gets patched.
Abhorrent Beast in the Ailing Loran chalice dungeon is quite the challenge. Still haven't beat him.
I'm on boss 4. Beat the BSB and am now fighting the chick beast in the cathedral. Attempted her once then decided to go level. Will report back later tonight with my stats.
I never used a shield. Just don't like it at all. Two handing or power stancing was always way more appealing to me.
Agree on the durability comments. I guess that was their way of trying to not let people be one weapon ponies.
Dex build with warped sword, washing pole, a bunch of endurance and agility was always my favorite way to go.
They came through starting DS2 either tonight or tomorrow.
Restarted DS2 as a sorc. Going to give that a go.
Sorc is working, low armor and lots of tumbling. Feels like a totally different game than Bloodborne with all the ranged stuff, but after really grinding in that game the past month, any of the heavier armor felt like I was moving through molasses. So I like Dark Souls 2 now, three bosses in, but wow, it's a completely different game than Bloodborne and even DS1 imo although it's been a couple of years since I picked that up.
Finally got this shit. You think you're close....and then you start the damn dungeons. Some of those are hard as hell. Pthumerian Queen is pretty easy though.
Finally beat the first boss. Watched a video and it didn't help but I saw that the dude was able to sprint. Messed around trying to figure out how to sprint, then I was able to kill the Cleric Beast. Still kicked my ass though.
Nice, while frustrating as hell sometimes, beating bosses in From Software games is always a good feeling. Learn to use the gun for stuns, makes everything in the game a million times easier.
Currently trying to beat the Ruin Sentinels alone as a sorcerer in Dark Souls 2 and almost legitimately threw my remote through the TV yesterday.
That was another thing the guy did that I had zero clue about. How did you guys find out about that? Was it in a note that I missed?!
From Software is kind of notorious for just letting you figure things out. I figured it out on the 2nd boss just spamming buttons trying not to die, but I played the first 8 hours with no idea that it stunned or that you could walk up and turn your hand into a claw and rip out people's hearts.
Looking back, Scholar of the First Sin makes Bloodborne look easy by comparison. I am getting my fucking ass handed to me by these forlorn NPC invaders. The AI on them is terrifying. Have five more areas to clear before Witcher next tuesday, definitely not going to make it through the DLC at this pace.
Have you played dark souls 2 before scholar of the first sin? They changed a bunch of enemy spawns and added a ton more random invasions that make the game more difficult. I've played through ds2 a ton of times over and I'm still figuring out stuff that I've missed before.
This is my first play through of DS2, not sure Sorc was the way to go.
The Smelter Demon is currently melting my face over and over again.
Just got my PS4 and Bloodborne last week. Thoroughly enjoying it. It's not Demons Souls tier, but I'm enjoying it way more than DS2.
