Fuckin a, man. How cool is this year. I mean, they're not good, but they're kinda good! The young talent has been awesome. And Dozier's jack was sweet tonight. And that wildcard game has me excited. All the pressure will be on the Yankees. Maybe it's the easiest way to get the first step of the Yankees monkey off our back, in a one game playoff. Santana throws a gem and Mauer hits a game-winner. Sorry I'm getting all out of hand. Sometimes I keep forgetting Spoiler Spoiler also applies to Corn fandom
Would be a great way to get over our Yankee playoff slump. This season has been awesome and hopefully a good look to what the future of some young players could be
Going into the season, I said I'd be happy if they boys won 70 games and elated if they ended up .500 or better. Making the playoffs isn't the highlight of the season, though. The real highlight of the season is seeing all of the new talent finally figuring it out and knowing that this is a good core of players to build a contending team with.
fuckin a this is too much. It's ludicrous how predictable it is, that the bottom of the first happens. It's also so predictable that I let my hopes get up.
Minnesota sports fandom at its finest....get you pumped and psyched only to rip it all away in heartbreaking fashion.
It is the first game and we already have free baseball. That was a very professional 9th inning at bat by Kepler. Two down, down in the count throughout, he must have seen 10 or 11 pitches before drawing the walk to load the bases.
0.00 ERA and 0.62 WHIP from our starters in 21 innings so far. Obviously, we are going to sustain this and win the World Series.
So depressing to always have prospects with "high potential" that always flop. Still time for Buxton and Sano but this organization needs to get things figured out from bottom up
The top-down approach being applied by those two fucking stat nerds, Falvey and Lavine sure as hell didn't help the team out at all this year. At least half of the shit that happened to the team this year was entirely the fault of the front office. Let's face it, Sano and Buxton are a bust. Sano is a head case, and that's not easily fixed. As much as I love watching Buxton play and appreciate his raw athletic talent, he just doesn't seem to have a major league swing. I'm not saying he's not durable, but a guy who goes after balls like Buxton does is never going to make it through an entire season without being on the DL for the year. Not to mention, Cave is a solid center fielder who is well above the Mendoza line. I just hope my buddy, Gene Glynn still has a job when this is all said and done. He interviewed for the manager position back in 2014 when Molly got the nod. Hopefully, they'll give him an interview at the very least.
Has anyone on here been to TwinsFest at target field? Wondering if they have any of the concourse enclosed or if it still exposed to elements? Would like to go with family but with the cold and a 3 month old it would be bad idea with the forecast. Haven't gone since it was at the metrodome
I think they have actually made good moves for the most part. I'm not sure if the failures of sano and buxton are on management.. they were aquired under Ryan's reign and both were worldly prospects which just about every team would take and try and make work. The ownership is cheap, they aren't going to buy a great F/A pitcher.. so we won't be good until we develop pitching as much as people want to concentrate on sano and buxton. I also wouldn't say buxton is a for sure bust, he definitely has a mental block at the major league level at this point. He has great coordination though but his swing isn't close to as pure as kiriloff. I've written off sano working out here but also think he could turn it around somewhere else.
So, I know they’ve played 1-3 fewer games than most squads, but after playing twenty games, our nine has the fewest losses in MLB. So that’s cool.
So Martin Perez? Wow. I’m remembering to be dead inside like a good MN fan but it Might just be a good summer!
This team is fun to watch. Can't remember last time I enjoyed watching them and made a point to watch
This is me too. I have really lost all interest in the team the past 5+ years for the most part. The run they made a couple years back was fun but this team has a different feel to it.
Unreal. And there are guys doing so many different kinds of hitting. Jacks/clutch hits with a lower avg like Rosario. 5-hit sky-high OPS like Polanco. Veteran dh skill like Cruz. Ridiculous slugging from two catchers. Rosario’s streaky. The catchers will come down to earth. But there is a lineup of so many hitters that even a couple guys having concurrent slumps can’t prevent it from putting up runs.
Hopefully Garver is ok but I can't get over that game saving throw by Buxton. 98.6 mph. 253 ft on target.
Fuckin a, this is a blast. In a season that they’re saying the ball is juiced, it’s great to have a lineup full of sluggers instead of piranhas. Wonder where Lew Ford and Jason Tyner at these days.
