My thought process is slighty different because I generally only know a dozen or so bands each year anyways, I live 25 miles away, and I dont pay full ticket price. But the lineup hits enough of my interests to have a good time. All three headliners appease me more than last year, and I dont even know LCD. Isbell and Stapleton is awesome. I want to marry Grace Potter. Late night Tame. I want to see Bully and Nathaniel Rateliff but I bet they play morning sets when I work. I agree with Tex not being the older acts on the undercard. And where are the rock bands?
Really hope the artist additions are good. Seemed like we are missing a few acts that people confirmed straight from the band that they would be there.
Good find. I looked after I asked and couldn't find much other than they expected to have original material, maybe an album, out soon.
highly suggest investing in this if you go to broo https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/siesta4-heat-light-blocking-tent-with-fans#/
Maybe this one will be better? Idk. I just hope they roll my points over if they kill it off after this year.
Going to go this year for first time. I don't own a tent, nor have I ever been camping in general. Think this tent would be worth it? Always hear about how brutal the heat is, curious to hear if that is overblown.
Last couple of years it hasn't been that bad. Just make sure to bring some kind of shade. Nice and cool at night.
Got about 3-4 people so far. Starting to recruit others now. What are general guidelines/things to bring? I assume theres a list somewhere in this thread, but I'm lazy. I have been to Jazzfest and Hangout as far as music festivals go, so I this will be my first of the camping variety. Any advice is helpful.
You'll want a tent to sleep in and one of those popup tents to sit under in the morning and early afternoon. Man I can't wait. I'm hoping for a less eventful/more relaxing roo this year.
Don't bring glass. Sunscreen. Goldbond. Camelbak if you don't want to make too many trips back to camp. Baby wipes/hand wipes.
You came to the right place. First, buy a couple canopy pop ups and additional side walls. Anything to make shade.
Frog togs towel Bandanas Comfortable shoes or boots. Extra socks, shorts, boxers, etc. First aid kit with moleskin for blisters Tolietries to take whore baths Tent, stakes, mallet Tarp Sleeping bag Pillow Camp chairs Sunglasses Towels Ponchos TP Flashlight or headlamp Coolers Dry ice Beer External phone charger
I roll barefoot except for the walk to centeroo and back. Exempt is beer tent other shoe relevant tents.
My local Dick's Sporting Goods has a Quest 10x10 instant up canopy for $47.99. Save $52. Steal of a deal.
This is probably my last year going. You have to come. Our cuddle sessions will make it all worth it!
I'm Jones'n. Cabin fever has set in. I love camping. I hope I dont get fucked on paying more to camp/park for work. Charging Vendors to park would be bullshit.
Probably my last year too. That said I'm still excited as hell. Lineup is pretty deep. Not as good as I was hoping but still solid
I have a 2L. I go through 4-5 fillups a day but I drink a ton of water. I wouldn't want the extra weight on my back but that's just me.
Fri: LCD, Tame Impala Sat: Pearl Jam, Stapleton, Potter, NR&TNS, Sun: Dead, Isbell Damn, thats about all I know. If Grace and Stapleton are at the same time
Man, that's some great days. Think they did a great job making sure everyday is pretty even. Love Friday the most!
Try to find a shade and just chill between 11/12 - 3/4. That's when the heat & sun, if it's hot, will give you a beating. I always seemed to sleep from around 4/6 until it got too hot( usually around 9-10 in a tent). So I would always try to get some rest in the shade during the peak heat and be ready for the late night. There used to be a few spots under trees where we could hear the bands at each stage even at the main stage.
Looks good. Maybe throw in a roll of duct tape to patch up things if a storm or the wind gets rough. Also, sunscreen and a hat. I used to also bring some bars of soap and a cheap pack of wash rags inorder to take a bath at those hand washing stations. Lol Also the most valuable things to have extra of are........beer, water, bud and drugs. You can trade/sell those for anything you might need. A buddy of mine was short money one year. He bought extra cases of water and set up beside the road where some folks campsite was a long ways from everything else. He sold out of water in about an hour. Turned $20 into $100 selling $1 bottles of water.
The whole day pass and Nashville shuttle is ridiculous. I was already leaning towards this being my last year, now it definitely will be.
