not so sure, in the books, they were very vague as to whether stannis and Meli actually consummated anything, at least as much as i can remember
it's pretty much confirmed in book 3 when Mel visits Davos in the dungeon and mentions that Stannis' life-flame (or something like that) is burning very low and she does a little to try to seduce Davos.
yea they don't say it explicitly I don't think, but the Davos chapter when she births it at Storms End ends with him saying that he knows that shadow and Catelyn says something similar at Renly's camp.
Book 5 as well. Either a John Snow or Mel POV there was something along the lines of "The bed saw little use when Stannis wasn't around" when it was talking about how she doesn't sleep.
Yea I didnt mind the changes too much after rewatching the episode. I just dont think the Craster - Jon confrontation was necessary. I really liked that they showed the white walker and that Melissandre show her tits.

Re-reading the entire series, which is an awesome thing to do. I had no idea how much I missed the first time through. Crazy. Anyway, had a question about something I read. It's pretty spoilerific (well, more speculative I guess, but still...). If you have read all the books and are quite familiar with all the theories, then please read. Spoiler On page 30, in Dany's chapter, it says,"Yet sometimes Dany would picture it the way it had been...Her brother Rhaegar battling the Usurper in the bloody waters of the Trident and dying for the woman he loved..." (emphasis mine) To many, this is a subtle nod to R+L=J, which seems plausible. In actuality, it seems like the ONLY explanation. Has it been said anywhere that Rhaegar fought at the Trident for his wife? Is there any other explanation that fits, other than Rhaegar fighting for Lyanna? Also, why does Dany know this? Since she wasn't even born yet, did she glean this info from Viserys?
Spoiler I think it is said somewhere in the books that Rhaegar and Lyanna were actually in love. She wasn't kidnapped/raped. But that's what Robert believed because they were betrothed. Now, that might have come from a theory website, but I think I remember it being said in the books.
He also left 3 knights of the kingsguard to guard her at the tower of joy. You don't just do that for anyone, even if he was in love with her. unless perhaps giving him a child...

and can we all agree that despite her overall suckiness, catelyn delivers one of the best lines in the second book, in response to someone ask her why she felt pity for renly's men: “Because it will not last,” Catelyn answered, sadly. “Because they are the knights of summer, and winter is coming.”
I'm guessing yes. It would make sense because it sets up her storyline for season 3. It would also introduce us to Strong Belwas Just remember Belwas wasn't cast and could be one of the ones the writers decided to cut.
How does everyone think the show will do the shadows? A wtf moment to end an episode with Renly getting murked and the birth in the next? They got the setup out of the way showing Stannis and Melisandre.
i forget, does dany leave qarth in book 2? if she does, then it would be kind of dumb not to have him in this season
