yes, i did. i read probably half of it and listened to the other half while driving. the audio book version i listened to was the 10th anniversary edition and it was voiced by a whole cast - it was like listening to a play which i think aided in my enjoyment of the book.

The ending is very vague so you have to decide on which path you think the story went down. Definitely made me want another full novel from her though. The Grownup wasn't even 70 pages.

I missed that it was a book club selection. Lot of people missed out if they didn't read it. Both a great story and expertly written.

anybody read the new JK Rowling book? I just finished it. Thought it was good, maybe not as good as the first two in that series, but solid.

Here's to a great 2016 (first book I'll finish there is The Wright Brothers by David mccullough)

The Hobbit - J.R.R. Tolkien Done for the year. Best was definitely All the Light We Cannot See. Looking forward to more in 2016.
This will be my final list for the year. I most likely won't be able to finish The Sword of Shannara for a few more days with all the football. Total approximate 2015 word count: 8,084,282 Favorite book: Probably either Ender's Game or And the Mountains Echoed for standalone (yes I know OSC wrote more books continuing Ender's Game). Series would be Knife of Dreams. Least favorite: I wasn't a big fan of To the Lighthouse. I'm not sure if it was Woolf's style or just the story itself.
This will be my final list as well. Best of the year is impossible to pick. Loved all the Malazan books, War and Peace and IT
If you do audiobooks that's how I did it and it is the best audiobook I've ever listened to. The reader was phenomenal
I won I read a bunch of good books this past year many of which I never Would've ever even heard of if not for this board. Not being one that tends to change or try a lot of variety you guys have definitely help me out in terms of broadening my reading horizons. That being said the book that I think was my favorite over the course of the whole year was one that I literally stumbled upon myself on Goodreads...The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August.
What did you think of this one? When I read it a couple of years ago I was spending a lot of time in Mumbai and staying at a hotel within walking distance to the slum in the book. I found it fascinating. I made it required reading for my team to help them understand that area and way of life.
Just to update for myself: 1. The Kingkiller Chronicle - The Name of the Wind 2. The Kingkiller Chroncile - The Wise Man's Fear 3. Ready Player One 4. All the Light We Cannot See 5. Martian 6. Shantaram 7. The Slow Regard of Silent Things 8. Wool 9. Shit 10. Dust - really enjoyed this series 11. Armada 12. The Boys in the Boat 13. The Short Drop 14. Saturn Run pretty happy with the year, most books I had read in year was probably 4 in a long time and made a point to read more in 2015. Hoping to get even more in '16. Most of these were all from here and was happy with nearly all the books I read.
