With my mouth
Drinking a good amount of knob 100 tonight and feeling nice, don't care what you snobs feel about this certain liquor
Vandy kentucky_dawg curious what y’all think of the toasted barrel? The more I drink it, I just don’t think it’s a personal favorite of mine. I have one extra left and I’m going to raffle it I think.
Honestly this Rowan’s Creek is really good for the price, it’s going to move into my daily drinker list.
Don’t you want that?
I bought five. Raffles one, kept one, sent one to kentucky_dawg and Vandy for cost plus shipping and I have an extra left. It’s not my favorite bottle but a lot of people like it I guess.
I think it's good, just not super complex. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either.
Just won a four roses 130th raffle, pretty excited for that one.
I've just been looking for another for my FIL. I have one and let him drink on it whenever he wants.
Maybe you and Detlef Schrempf can work something out
Shoot me a pm and I’m sure we can work something out man.
When I lived in Australia they had Michter's American and I thought it was just some gimmicky bourbon for foreigners but it was actually pretty good. I saw it here in the store for the first time since having it 3 years ago
also DexterRutecki if you want to try some cheaper stuff that is good across the board in my opinion I'd recommend an Old Charter 8 (10 if you can find it), an Old Granddad 114 and an Old Forrestor Signature 100
Both four roses small batch and single barre are both delicious as well for the price.
THEM BITCHES AINT UNDER 25 DOLLARS. VALUE PICKS SON!!!!
I was fishing below $50... hahaha
Four roses yellow label is around $25 I think
YOU SEE A YELLOW LABEL IN THAT COMMENT???
I'm sorry I'm all feisty because I hate hospitals
YELLOW LABEL IS FUCKING DELICIOUS!!
I like it. I can drink it neat. Not much burn. Tastes like bananas. Plus right now you can get the holiday sets for the same price that come with 2 glasses
Do you all prefer FR OESX or OBSX?
Bumping this so you can see it pperc15
Yep, I saw that. Just curious if people prefer the E or the B.
Oesk for sure. So, E.
They sell them all individually at the distillery for $3.50 each, but that ruins the fun of the chase. https://buffalotracegiftshop.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=47
I bought this without the stoppers while I was down there and I’m about half way finished collecting.
Had a bit of good luck today...
Oooh hey gurl
No idea what happened, these things came out like more than a month ago in KY. The owner must have been holding them back because, while it's a store I frequent, I got an ORVW back when they originally came out and figured they had given the rest to the more frequent customers. Stopped in really quick for some wine this morning and they basically rang this up without asking questions, knowing I'd have no objections.
So just a store that knew you. That’s cool.
Want to mail that one back to me for cost and shipping? Hahahaha
Weller SR at 57.99 is a definite no, right? What about Blantons at 89.99?
I'm in California and looking around...
Edit: EH Taylor Single Barrel 87.99, FR LE 399.99
No on both. That’s about full secondary for Blantons and more than full secondary for special reserve. Assuming that it’s just standard Blantons and not any of the more limited releases.
No to all I'd say at those prices and the risk of shipping them back safely to me outweighs buying them at those prices. I suspect you will be able to get all of those sooner than later for considerably less than those prices in PA.
I recently bought Well SR for $22.
I'm just looking online right now. I'm going to have to walk into a few stores and see what's sitting on the shelves.
I may have found an interesting place to check out... may have EH Taylor Single Barrel at 74.99 which I believe is only $5 more than what they sell it for in PA (when it's available, which is almost never) and a 375ml Buffalo Trace experimental for 69.99 which intrigues me given scarcity.
Which experimental bottle is it?
Website doesn't say. Give me a quick rundown of what I'd be looking for...
Also, ended up with a layover in Chicago (my direct flight was cancelled) so my coworker and I grabbed a drink and bite at the Publican in the terminal. I walk over to the bar just curious to see what they have and there is a Weller Antique bottle, almost full. I've never had it before, so two of those made the layover almost worth it. Especially since work was paying :)
If there's anybody in here who lives in NC what is the best way to get allocated stuff there? I know NC is state run. Do you have to enter state lotteries online for bigger bottles or what? Asking for a friend.
In Charlotte, the Mecklenburg county board just does an email lottery. I've been in every single entry for the last 5 years and have never won anything. It's horrible. Drove around the SC border yesterday to around 3 stores, and best thing I saw was Buffalo Trace for $50...
Dear god. You can get 1.5L of BT for $50 in PA.
Stateline Elite is the best store I've found in the area. About 40-45 minutes from Charlotte uptown
