The guy was telling me about the BCS Rye said its pretty good, anyone tried it?
I love Michters. Cant find it around here though. Going to search for it in nc/tn next weekend.
That’s special. Where’d you find that? How much did you pay? I have one but it’s already getting down. Any chance you can grab me one?
My local store hooks me up because I always save them a 2oz sample from my good bottles. Yesterday he told me he had 12 and asked how many I wanted. I said... "Can I open one and try it in the store??" So we went to the back and opened one and poured it and I was like Damn! I'll take 4.
I can def go get more or just send you one of mine from here its just shipping seems like a pain in the dick. If anyone has a good howto with typical pricing to expect I'd be down. I feel like S&H adds like 30$ to the price
All that being said I am def going to be able to get BTAC and special releases next year!
If it’s signed, I’d definitely like one. They are normally $79.99. I would email you a FedEx label so you just need to pack it up carefully in a box, tape the label to the box, and drop it off at FedEx.
Dovetail might be my bottle of the year. Really dig it.
Really debated buying more than one. I'm sure once word starts getting out, secondary is going to skyrocket and I'll be left kicking myself that I didn't grab a few extra to stock up.
Had this at a restaurant last summer and loved it, finally got around to picking up a bottle. This stuff is really good, reminds me a lot of OKI.
Usually like to drink on the rocks but I’ve been making manhattans recently and they’re pretty pretty good. Just lovely for lower tier bourbon.
Picked these two up last night.
Never seen chicken cock before but he’ll of a name.
Saw it going for a pretty decent markup on the secondary market and that was the last bottle they had so I figured I would give it a shot.
Went to a whisky tasting last night at Park Street Cantina in Columbus OH. It was mostly bourbon but everything was represented. They had an ok selection. They had VIP high end tickets (2) and was really disappointed in the selection. Two sherry cast finished. One Masters Keep and a local guy. They had the single barrel jack and was impressed with that. Anyway, disappointed in the selection.
I got bored with the quickness and started poking around the rest of the place. Saw a birthday in the back corner then looked up and saw a 23 year EC. Grab my buddy and we weren’t sure if we were supposed to buy anything from the back. Went to the front and they had 2017 and 2018 birthday at the bar. Asked how much...$10. Had 4 between the 3 of us in 15 minutes. Convinced the bartender to come to the back with the rest of high end stuff. They had 10,12,15 pappy. Way over priced for a pour and we’ve had the 15 before. The EC 23 was $60. Bought it. Not my style since I don’t like the really long aged but fun to find it and try it.
Went back up and had a birthday each. Then someone gave us 6 more tickets. Went back to my buddies place and had a few more michters 10. I don’t remember much after the first drink there. Best bourbon night ever.
TLDNR Had EC23 for $60 and OF Birthday for $10! both for the first time.
Shoot me a pm, I’d love another bottle of dovetail if you can swing it.
I'm going to go by tomorrow and double check with who signed them bc pperc15 was curious, he's snagging one of my bottles. They should have some more but I'll let ya know. If you want it just do like he did and send me a moneys and a packing label but I'll let ya know.
High West A Midwinter Night's Dram Straight Rye Whiskey 98 Proof
Online exclusive for $99.99. Good deal?
I'd snag it if I were you. That's what I paid at a state ABC store. Would easily be willing to pay that much again.
Retails here for $90 and I really like it.
That’s an act 4 in the picture I’m assuming the bottles an act 6?
I paid $90; $100 is worth it imo
Been looking for a bottle of that forever but can't ever find it around here.
I was seeing a decent amount of it in November/ December haven’t seen it since.
I bought 2 from the state. Yes, they are Act 6. It’s quite good. Pull the trigger.
Bought two back in Nov, have already drank one bottle. Scared to pop the last bottle because of reasons
I probably bought 5 and sent four to friends, should’ve kept an extra.
Yep. Bought two and gave one to tjsblue. Really wish I had that one back.
He didn't deserve it.
(Sets reminder to bring to game gob isn’t at)
Anyone had the 11.5 year Cream of Kentucky from Jim Rutledge the former master distiller at four roses?
What's the going rate for a bottle of ETL? Its impossible to get around here
Retail is $50-60, regularly moving for $120 or north on secondary.
MSRP is $39.99 :) Which is what you paid. For two bottles.
Your msrp in PA is cheaper than here, I think I paid $55 for the only bottle I’ve ever seen here.
I can get my hands on one for $75. Wasn't sure if that qualified as rape or not
Wouldn’t have any problem paying that for one, it’s a really great bottle.
I've drank plenty and love it. I've never owned a bottle
Looking for places with a good bourbon selection in Tulsa or fort smith Arkansas
it took a few years but i finally took this advice and bought a bottle of 'four roses single barrel'
Won this in a raffle, been trying to win one for a while after I noticed a bunch of the 14 year Heavenhill’s dump dates were my Dad’s birthday. So I was really excited to get this one and I’m looking forward to sharing it when my family gets together on his birthday.
Such a nice bourbon selection.
And then you drink K cups...
Those are my wife’s, bourbon is the only brown liquid I partake of.
$29 for my local places store pick Elijah Craig small batch barrel pick. 11 years aged at 94 proof. Just tasted it and I will be back tomorrow to buy at least 3 more bottles.
Same here. It’s a great bottle and that price is a steal for the quality.
I bit the bullet and bought a Weller 12 off my local secondary group. Got a 1.75 for $190. I’ve been looking for W12 for over two years and never saw it on the shelf once. I went with the jumbo because the price was great (comparatively) and I understand Weller stopped making the handles this year.
Any recommendations for one bar and one store to hit in Chicago? Is it as simple as Delilah’s and Binny’s?
