Whats the age?
Bottle in Bond means it has been aged 10 years, bottled 100 proof.
BIB just has to age a minimum of 4 years, you can bottle it (at 100 proof) at any time after that.
This was Barreled 11/23/11 so about 7.5 years old.
I stand corrected
That box should be the thread hot potato.
Next time you find a good bottle, grab two and send one along to someone ITT.
If you want to throw an anal ring toss into the box, who am I to judge?
You had me at anal ring toss.
Opened my bottle of Dovetail tonight to sip on during the baseball game and . Going to be hard choosing to go with my other bourbons now that that bottle has been opened.
I got 3
Had the Hibiki last night and it was fantastic. The Chita I brought back was also had and also solid. Turns out Japanese whiskey lives up to the hype.
Does anyone know if Dovetail is a yearly release, or was this a one time thing from Barrel Bourbon?
How much did you pay for yours if you don't mind me asking?
I thought it was a one time deal
Dovetail is sitting on shelves in Atlanta for $80. How many do I pick up (if any)?
That is retail for those bottles. I’m sure if you bought them out you could resale to the rest of this thread. It’s a great bourbon to have1-2 bottles in your cabinet.
I’m interested in drinking it, just wasn’t sure of price/availability. And I’m too lazy to search the thread.
A store near the Braves stadium has it in stock for $80. They always seem to have a decent supply.
I have seen 3 separate bottles with 3 different proofs, so wasn't sure if they were all from different years.
Where one Atlanta? Bout to go do some shopping it appears.
Oh well I could be wrong.
Green’s on Ponce
Looks like they have two of the three proofs listed, one was released in November of 2018 and the other in February of this year. Not sure about the third proof I've seen (124.34).
One for me, if you honestly don't mind.
They’re on their second release of it currently.
Interesting. Have you had a chance to try the second batch? If so, just as good as the first?
Haven’t yet, only time I’ve seen it was at a total wine in phx and it was retailing at $110 there so I figured I’d wait til I was somewhere with a lower msrp. I believe WillieHuff has and said it was even better.
I will check on Monday.
Would love to hear some thoughts. I know you said this was their second release, but according to that article I posted above, there were already two other batches released (Nov '18 and Feb '19)
Also, what's the proof on the batch you have, if you don't mind me asking.
Second batch is better and higher proof by like .7
kentucky_dawg if you want i can send you a sample of both. I just have to order more sample bottles bc i've been using these left and right
That would be awesome, thanks!
So the two you are referring to are the ones that came out in Nov '18 and Feb '19 (122.9 and123.8 proof), correct? There was a third proof my buddy sent me a picture of that was 124.34 proof, which I found odd and couldn't find anything online about.
Here's the pic he sent me...
Yeah I have the first two. Its easily found here so I can always get more if you're intersted
I completely forgot. I’ll be back that way on Thursday and will stop in.
No worries. If it's on your way and you remember then great. If not, then no big deal. I appreciate even the offer.
No dice on the Dovetail. That was wiped out along with the Nikka grain I was trying to pick up for my FIL.
Speaking of my FIL, he just sent me this...
Considering I got him everything but the vermouth, you all can just blame me.
If you want dovetail I can get it here
How much? Depending on the price I might want one.
Usually about 87 after tax + shipping
Birthday is tomorrow and a buddy surprised me with this as an early gift
That's a good buddy, right there.
Making it forty years is an accomplishment
