Country club I bartended at used it for the well.
I only drink neat or over a whiskey rock and it's my daily drinker. I enjoy the hell out of it.
The bonded one is good as well.
I live that Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star mixer life.
There plastic handle is a great tailgating bourbon. Now people are snatching it up like it's Pappy around here. For the last 6 mo can't find it on shelves.
Confirmed that BrickTamland thinks Dick(el) is delicious.
Following along with an online auction today and they sold the two bottles below...
1944 SEALED FULL BOTTLE OF OLD FORESTER BOURBON for $650
1942 UNOPENED BOTTLE OF OLD CHARTER BOURBON for $500
I scored some good stuff yesterday. RHF for $50 and (2) Michter's Barrell Strength Rye for $79.99 ea. A Weller SR to replace an empty for $26.99, (2) Willett FR Rye 4 year for $59.99 ea. Then this morning hit the jackpot and got a 2017 FR LE for $124.99. There was one sitting on the website and at 7:30am I was just lucky enough to check.
Nice! I wish Ohio did it the same way, I never got a shot at any of that stuff here, other than Weller SR. About to check the local store for some Antique.
Correction, the FR was $124.99 :)
The PA site crashed horribly yesterday during the release. I am lucky I was able to get anything, as many people had stuff in their cart and then couldn't buy it. Unfortunately the RHF was limited to 1 per person.
Week later update: only 29 bottles left.
It's one of my favorites to have during the week because I know I can limit myself to one pour. Potent hooch.
That shit would disappear in an hour up here.
Well these rural folk love their Fireball and flavored vodka...
The nectar of the gods rural folk.
Dickel BIB at $46, worth?
I am not buying anything named “Dickel”
Shut up and open your mouth.
I don’t particularly enjoy Dickel products I’d personally pass.
Tough but fair
Saw that yesterday and all I could think is, "probably tastes like dickel"
I’m pressing my luck, really liked that $30 store pick Dickel I got last week. Bought it.
It can always be worse. My $90 Jefferson’s ocean purchase was a giant meh. Not listening to that friends recommends for a while again.
Which one? I recently got a bottle of the 15 (the wheated one) and it was good but its just hard to go back to non barrel proof stuff
It’s the 16 release. Nothing special, and it should be for that price point imo. I’ll spend $110 all day long on Mitchers 10 year, but there are a lot of 40-50 bottles I like better than this one at 90
We really need an updated OP with “must buy at the price point” lists...
Maybe time for a new thread
Regular Jefferson or Jeffersons Reserve are both worth buying. Ocean is just Reserve with a shtick that costs you $40.
I am delightfully delicious and too rich for your blood
That’s a little high for that bottle, but it’s still a 14yr BIB so not a bad value.
FWIW, it tastes like flintstone vitamins. Whether that’s good or bad depends on if you like those I suppose. Don’t think I’ll be buying another one.
I read MSRP was $36, so a $10 markup for a store that has been good to me didn’t feel like too much of a stretch.
My wife like the Blood Oath, so I picked up number 5 this weekend. Hopefully it gets me in the good graces
I picked this up the other day but haven’t cracked it yet. Let me know how it is.
Just had a glass of this actually. Thought it was really solid, but oddly enough, barely any of the Rum notes came through. If I hadn’t read that it was Rum Cask finished, I would’ve thought it was just a really nice straight bourbon. Some orange and charred sugar on the nose, but that basically disappeared on the palate. I thought it was pretty good actually, it was just different than I was expecting
Thank you so much, goblue31602
My first bottle of Antique, making a really nice addition to my modest collection.
Glad it got there safely. Now all that's left to do is enjoy a delicious bourbon!
I noticed that the anal ring toss I sent was not returned. Glad you’re getting good use out of it.
I just figured you didn't need a used set back.
Oh heavens... you didn't think I sent you a new, set did you?
Bless your heart.
NO WONDER it slipped out of my hands like 5 times before we could start.
Tried it last night. Very smooth and easy to drink, probably due to the vanilla and caramel taste. You can definitely taste the sweetness of the rum casks, but not too much.
Anyone heard anything on when the EH Taylor Amaranth is going to be released?
I believe the last thing I read was BT moved into a new bottling facility which had delayed it and weller full proof, likely into August.
My shop just offered me a bottle of Old Fitzgerald 13yr
At a buddy's house and he has a pretty good collection
Some good juice on that table.
