Is Georgia the first state to go live with it?
I know there was some fuckery but FL I think is still on for July 1 too.
#Notre Dame Fighting Irish already has billboards
That rep who snuck in the delay must’ve had a bad week.
a ton of them
Those don’t have anything to do with NIL though, right? Those players aren’t getting money for those billboards.
So that second tweet....the law just gives schools the option to hold and distribute? And UGA is saying fuck that Football keeps their money and gets it now?
NCAA loves to make shit fair, but this is such a massive disadvantage for schools and shitty states that are going to block it. All else held equal, Imma go get paid.
Mississippi's is happening July 1 as well.
I dont know when alabama's goes live but we've started advertising it.
“We’re not just a football school...”
We fucking own womens wheelchair basketball, loser.
I was under the impression that Taiwan was #1?
Also July 1
What shitty states are doing that? We have Oregon and California, and Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama all in. Seems like the spectrum from good states to shitty states is well covered here.
How is that advertising NIL? Schools have always promoted their players/sports on social media.
Edit: didn't realize Advantage was that specific program to elevate their likeness
I wasn't aware Alabama had that passed
I just assumed by Tiffin’s post that they had. Was too lazy to click to read further.
They did two weeks ago, apparently.
I look forward to this opportunity of boosters "legally" being able to funnel money to players. I'm going to assume Auburn will do an extremely poor job of this
Good for Alabama. It’s nice to see the little guy who needs all the help it can get to level the playing field get some love.
Too bad UT got busted for McDonald's bag they could just throw some 1,000 tips
So are there any guardrails on these "endorsements"
Can every Auburn player get endorsed by YellaWood & Bama players promote Byrant Bank and just directly pay these kids?
"Oh, 5* QB yeah, well Tuscaloosa Dodge is looking for a new sponsor and you'll get a free loaner Charger."
Am I wrong that teams aren't going to abuse the fuck out of this?
oh no, players will be compensated for playing for the teams of the sponsors’ choosing
My only problem with this is that I won't be able to completely ignore tiktok anymore
The NCAA will get a decision from the US Supreme Court in mid-June and have two weeks to issue a rule before this becomes a 50 state free for all of different rules.
nd will definitely pay the players for ad, that was made very clear by the university after the ad that used cj prosise
it was a Samsung commercial
that really wasn't my point at all. I'm all for players getting real money
Hopefully this is the start of everyone telling the NCAA to fuck off
NFL player CJ Prosise? I’m really confused.
There is a Samsung ad with cj prosice in a nd uniform and he got some money for it
I know GT football is kinda a non-factor in the grand scheme of things....but wtf
I'm not sure ND would be able to pay current players for it. That would still seem to be an extra benefit if players were actually being paid by the school. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, though.
Wild times, Kemp is a piece of shit regardless
The NCAA still runs every other sport championship except football. As long as they own March Madness, no one is telling them to fuck off. Monetarily, they can’t.
The conferences have always set their own agenda in football, loosely using the NCAA to enforce rules against each other.
The NCAA has not had monetary power over conferences in football since it lost the right to dictate TV contracts in 1984.
He's not a current player so not sure how that applies here.
No joke. Wish we could ever be in bed with our state politicians like that. And we’re a block down the damn road from them
I plan to get a bunch of UCF OL dudes to put out some great popsicle related content this summer.
Then when they have 5 false starts in a row again I can sever ties.
if we aren't finding ways to drop bags for better players I am going to be disappointed
i don’t know the details but they took a clip of him during a nd game and swarbrick used it as an example and said. « We made sure cj was compensated for the ad » so maybe they just negotiated a deal so he could get some money even though he was not in school anymore.
This is going to change the collegiate athlete NIL/endorsement game.
Very bad defensive back Trey Dean’s “DM is open” if any businesses are interested.
#Clemson Tigers is Daniel Ukulele on a car commercial in Tiger Town yet?
I hope not because that law in SC doesn't take effect for a year I thought
Didn't know that. Is your staff raising hell? Seems like you've gotta get this ball rolling to recruit with Bama/Georgia/Ohio State
