@NicoHines 2m2 minutes ago BBC reports from the counts in Sunderland and Newcastle don't quite seem to tally with these big Remain poll leads...
I certainly think that sovereignty and democracy are stronger arguments and are maybe "at the heart of the argument" in the context of British politicians But in the context of a referendum I still feel that the general public there is much more motivated by immigration policy, and that the referendum will fail or succeed on that basis.
20% of electorate voting through the mail with the majority being older folks. About 9-10 million votes. Those are leavers
the twitter sniping between newcastle and sunderland is hilarious. all these newcastle people talking shit about how they "beat them" to announce. i guess its tradition for sunderland to go first..?
The sunderland seats have usually been first to declare in elections; sort of a pride thing to be first.
It's the same at every locals and general election night results, they leg it to try and go first. Go to around 16 mins 30 secs into the 2015 Beeb coverage, it's gas
Farage boolish on Sky News. Going on about immigration again, says the EU is dying regardless of result. Thinks Remain might nick it.

its pretty crazy seeing the huge swings in regions. suppose itd be similar spreads though if it was NYC vs. WYOMING
This is such a weird thing to play team politics about. I selfishly wanted them to remain because I like money in my 401k and other stocks going up, not down, but hey, at least your team got a W.
Rumored turnout in Glasgow at 56%; bad for remain as they were banking on Scottish areas turning out heavily.
