#Chicago Bears #Denver Broncos
Oh come on
Such a good hire it deserves a second thread
What do you mean?
what a lame hire. 60 years old and no HC experience.
Not sure I’d be real excited as a Broncos fan with that hire but it sucks as a Bears fan.
WIth Kubiak in at OC I bet the broncos trade for Joe Flacco
He’s an amazing defensive coordinator. I hope the best for him. Chubb and Von in his hands gonna be nasty.
I have a chub in my hands is that nasty?
What are you talking about?
What we needed was a defense minded 60 yo with no head coaching experience.
When are the Broncos gonna fire John Elway?
After reading The Athletic’s piece on Fangio I’m more optimistic about his chances if he’s got a decent OC but I’m officially bearish on the Broncos until they fix their Elway problem
Kubiak is a really good OC. If he told elway that he will come back and his health improved but only as an OC, it makes sense that they would go after the best DC they can find as HC and let kubiak run the offense. Elway has made plenty of questionable decisions but kubiak isn’t one of them.
Didn't realize that was official.
That was the last thing I heard. Not sure it’s official. If he’s not the OC that would certainly change things. I assumed when they went defensive for the coach after it didn’t work last time that he had that plan in place.
Same stale garbage scheme with a noodle armed QB. Can't wait.
Trade for Flacco a possibility if kubiak comes in. Certainly not a trade that would excite the fanbase but Flacco was actually good under kubiak. Had far and away his best regular season when kubiak was the OC. I’m not a big fan of flacco at all but I could see him finding success if it’s with kubiak.
He's their next HC/GM.
So who would have been considered a good hire?
All I know is that Elway shouldn't have a job either. Vance was terrible but Elway's roster building/drafting is beyond horrible.
But yet here we go rolling out the Kubiak offense that hasn't been good in a very long time.
Here's a sneak peak. Defense improves and eventually gets worn down for having to spend all game on the field. Keenum continues to share the ball with the opposing team. Broncos fans will inevitably be depending on not only the defense to stop the opposing team but also out score them because the offense is maybe, at best, meidicore.
Nothing ever changes.
Why in the world would we trade for Flacco when he is going get cut?
Yeah why teams ever come out and say “we’re going to trade or cut this player” is beyond dumb. If I’m elway I offer a 7th rd pick for Flacco and draft a QB in the top 4 Rds.
Do you even Elway, bro?
Because if there are other teams that want Flacco then he gets traded to them. Will be very interesting to see what happens with him. Teams have made dumb trades for QBs with Flacco level talent before.
He kind of has carte blanche right now, at least until the ownership kerfluffle is ironed out. Bowlen’s family are all focused on seizing control and not worrying about management right now. Elway essentially manages himself.
I find it interesting that he said Denver and not fangio. Why doesn’t elway just make himself head coach
It is funny, are there any other personnel guys in the league that most of the assistant coach hires? I will say munchak plus a young innovative oc would be a big step in the right direction.
Kubiak would have been an outstanding hire.
Idk his offense used to be awesome but recently it has not been good and he wanted to bring a bunch of his cronies with him.
When you say recently what years/teams do you specifically mean? He ran a really good offense with joe Flacco. Peyton was horrible toward the end. I just wouldn’t bet against kubiak until he had an offense that performed poorly relative to talent. People have this problem with the ravens. Ravens fans want an elite offense but we haven’t had an elite offensive playmaker since we cut anquan boldin after we won the super bowl. Is that coaching? I say no.
