interesting that Ramsey is still alive. I hadn't heard that. roster still has some serious holes. not only at starters, but just depth across the board. crazy thing is we have 63 dudes under contract right now, and still have 8 draft picks. thats awesome. i was worried he was going to have to miss all that. having an in-shape, healthy Kareem Hunt coming in week 9. thats fucking huge.
I realize I'm sort of defending beating women here, and I joked about it before, but.... Isn't it a little fucked up that Hunt was not allowed to play, what, 6 games last year, and is now suspended an additional 8 games? If it's a 14 game suspension, then fine, whatever, that's 14 games. But if it's 8 games, hasn't he already sat out 6 of them?? If you are going to put a guy on the commissioner's exempt list, then you have to add those games to whatever the suspension is, don't you?
I don't think that's exactly true. The Chiefs may not have wanted to play him, but he was not allowed to play, even if the team wanted him to. He's been on the Commissioner's Exempt List, since like Dec 1. But then he was also released shortly after that too, right?
Grossi was on NFL Radio today and said the suspension was not just for the incident in Cleveland. Apparently there were a couple of other fights/incidents that played into it.
I didn't like the Chubb pick when we made it. However, he's been able to get a lot of that speed back pre-injury finally and he's awesome. Love having him and Hunt to wear defenses down in the second half.
I'm really starting to buy in to the idea that we're going to open the year on SNF against NE. I'd love that. Give our young guys the taste of a big game right off the bat and we're playing with house money against a NE team that has a tendency to start the year slow. A win kicks your season off with a bang and if you lose, then nothing's really hurt because no one expects you to win that game.

Of those dudes listed, i would love Thornhill or Ya-Sin. Would be over the moon if Ya-Sin fell to us in round 2. Don't think it happens though. Might be able to get Winovich in round 3.
Yeah, doubt Ya-Sin will be there but for some reason a lot of the more recent drafts have him going around our spot in the second.

The talent at LB available at our pick in round 2 will most likely be a lot better, and fit Wilks' D better, than the talent at safety available. Germaine Pratt, OLB - I love Pratt for Wilks' defense. He is a FS turned LB who can play insider or out. He is really good in coverage. He's only played 1 year at LB, so he's very raw and nowhere close to his ceiling. Really seems like the perfect fit for Wilks...similar to Shaq Thompson, who he had in Carolina. Terrill Hanks, OLB - not at 49, but a guy I would look at later in the draft. Another FS turned LB with limited experience and a high ceiling. Khalil Hodge, ILB/OLB - Strong all-around LB who has just produced year after year. Maybe my 2nd favorite LB in round 2 for Wilks' system after Pratt. Taylor Rapp, SS - I'm on the fence. He is definitely a SS in the NFL because his ability to cover is mediocre at best He has very limited range and can't play man very well. In other words, he seems a lot like a one-trick pony. In today's NFL, if both of your safeties can't cover, you can be exploited rather easily by a good passing offense. FTR - A dream scenario would be that we work out a trade with the Jets for Darron Lee, who is perfect for Wilks' defense and gives us 2 of the best cover LB's in the NFL. Then CB Justin Layne is available in the 2nd round.
agree with this. would love it, but i don't expect him to be there round 3. this is the dude I want. but I've been hearing a lot of things that say he might go late first, early second.
