Do you want the 20m a year 30 year old who leads nfl in drops, the 15m a year guy we just traded for who can’t separate or the guy we traded a second round pick for who can’t do either?
Hate being a fan of this team. Hope Chubb is his old self. That might give me something to cheer for.
Team needs to trade everyone they can get an asset for. I think you can still probably get two firsts or a similar haul for Myles from a contender. Might be able to get a mid round pick for Denzel. I'd take anything for Amari. I think JOK is probably the only player on the roster I wouldn't be willing to trade for a realistic price. Blow it up, start rebuilding, eat the Watson cap hit. This seems like a good Tackle draft, get the kid from LSU or Texas and start over again. You'd suck again next year but there may be some really high value QB prospects in the 2026 draft I'd keep Stefanski, Berry will be the one to lose his job for the Watson fuck up even though it was probably a Haslam decision.
Burn it to the ground. Stefanski can go be average elsewhere. Berry and the worst trade in NFL history can go play smartest guy in the room elsewhere. Trade Myles, Denzel and some of your solid vets on short deals for draft picks. Tank it.
I like Stefanski and think he's a good coach. I think this is an unsalvageable mess and I'd fire everyone else
God willing they don't win another game. Trade any player they can for picks and start rebuilding. Seems like tackle would be the correct move in the top 3, yeah?
Does a world exist where we can just buy out Deshaun's contract? No one is going to trade for him. And yeah, I'm all in with selling the farm. Trade Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward, Greg Newsome, Wyatt Teller, Nick Chubb, and anyone else worth any draft capital. We are stuck in hell for the next three years. There is no point in holding onto talent. Our best bet is a full reset and load up on draft picks over the next couple of years while offloading some of our other big cap hits. Keep Stefanski. This isn't his pile of shit. Fire Berry.
I think ewers can be a good NFL QB but certainly not in Cleveland. I'm not interested in any other QB that high.
I was looking at this further. On the trading block- - Nick Chubb - Amari Cooper - Jerry Jeudy - David Njoku - Joel Bitonio - Wyatt Teller - Jack Conklin - Jed Wills - Ethan Pocic - Myles Garrett - Dalvin Tomlinson - Za'Darrius Smith - Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah - Denzel Ward - Greg Newsome - Juan Thornhill - Grant Delpit All big cap hit guys and/or guys that have value you can get a decent amount of draft capital for. No need to string this along any further. Then do this in the offseason and just eat it.
Stefanski still sticking by Watson. Clearly the higher up's have told him it’s not his choice, right?
He clearly wasn’t too happy this offseason and it was kinda weird when he signed that reworked deal. Then being potentially shopped for Aiyuk made things even more awkward. Then the QB sux and Amari clearly dislikes him. im saying all this because it’s felt for a while that it’s better for both parties to move on. edit to add: getting a third for the way he’s played and the fact that he’s 30 and in his last year of the deal isn’t terrible. The fact that berry will turn that third rounder into a shitty DT who gets cut in 2 seasons will suck ass though.
While true, after reading this, can’t imagine this guy not playing as soon as possible. https://www.theplayerstribune.com/nick-chubb-nfl-football-cleveland-browns Also think Deshaun makes the OL look worse than it is
It’s really hard to say because the OL has been a mess pretty much all year with all the injuries. If Pocic is back this weekend it will be 4 of 5 starters on the field for the first time all year (only missing Teller). I agree that the QB makes it worse. He’s always been that way because he always holds onto the ball and attempts to extend plays. I think the OL play is exceptionally bad though. That paired with a dead QB = 1-5
It’d be a great time to swap in Jameis to see what he can with Chubb but Haslam is too big of a coward
I was listening to Jake Burns podcast today and he made a compelling case that it’s not just Haslem and that he thinks Stefanski and Berry really do think DW is the answer. Made me sad
Idk man Kevin has been able to get wins with a host of journeyman QB’s the last few years and they’ve never been this inept. Granted the OL is now garbage but Watson is doing them no favors. Have to think he knows that Jameis could run the offense better.
