Planning a boys trip to LA for the Chargers game as soon as the schedule drops. Have they announced when that will be?
That’s surprising. We’re pretty thin at DT, although maybe they’re planning on playing Clowney a bunch at 3-tech.
Maybe we're thinking about moving up for Barmore. That DT room is weak as fuck right now tbh. Maybe we found something in Jordan Elliott?
When the Tribe was up 2-1 late yesterday, a "Here we go Brownies" chant broke out in Cincy. Then the Tribe shit the bed.;
PFF hates us drafting CB’s in spite of it being a big need, it’s really weird. I did one the other day where I got Horn at 26 (never going to happen) and they gave it a C+. As soon as my grade popped up I went instantly to face.
Of the realistic options at 26, right now my order of preference is probably: JOK Ojulari Newsome Farley Barmore
I'd rather we take a DT/LB over corner but I'll be fine with any of the usual suspects as long as it's not Oweh
My guess would probably be a corner (if they're going to trade up) That's the only position of need that there's a significant drop-off before we pick.
I’d have to think a trade up is for Parsons, Surtain or Horn. Edge is pretty deep this year, I feel like they could sit at 26 and get a quality guy.
all for it ... if it’s OBJ we are over allocated in $ at the WR position as is and need to do something
Also want no part of DeVonta Smith in the top 15 picks IMO honestly wouldn’t mind Bateman at 26 and trading OBJ for a 3rd and whatever
After listening to that, I think any mocks that have us taking a LB’er not named JOK early in draft can be thrown out the window. My other two takeaways are: 1. I could definitely see them taking another safety relatively early. 2. They plan on playing Clowney a ton inside, and aren’t concerned with their depth at DT.
I don't see the need for another safety early. You've got Johnson, Harrison, and Delpit. You can probably take a developmental guy later but taking one early that'll struggle to get on the field in his first few years doesn't make sense. Also, I'm extremely weary of a dime based defense in a division with the Ravens.
Random question - is PFF still considered the bible when it comes to rating/ranking players or has its value declined over the past couple years? Saw that article about PFF ranking us the 2nd best roster in the NFL right now and just curious.
I certainly don't view as gospel. Their ratings are an interesting data point and they do some cool things but they also base their evaluations on only knowing half the story. They don't know the details of what's coached on a certain play. I think we have a top 3-5 roster in the NFL talent wise. Tampa, KC, Buffalo, New Orleans also in the conversation.
I definitely think one of the third round picks is getting traded. I think JOK is one of the best fits for this team in the entire draft.
Agree. I am 100% on board with this. His versatility will be exceptional with the front four that we have. All in on this if it happens.
Woods said last week that he would prefer to basically play 3 S and 3 CB's most of the time. We have 1 really good CB on the roster right now...Ward. So we really need to add some CB's if Woods is going to get his preference of packages on defense.
Really depends on the DL and who is playing the LB role. One safety is probably a hybrid as well. So somebody like JOK, Delpit or Harrison could play that role.
Someone said it in this thread no chance all those picks make the team, shoot I don’t think we can afford 9 draft picks
Draft week survey: 1. The (realistic) player you most want at 26? 2. The player you don’t want at 26? 3. Would you be upset if they traded out of the 1st round? 4. Which of the following would your preference be for addressing CB? a. trading up for Surtain/Horn b. staying at 26 and taking Farley/Newsome c. taking the best CB available in the 2nd round 5. What do you think the Browns do Thursday night?
