There are still some really good players left going into round 2. My mind is blown that JOK is still available. JOK, LB - my #1 want C. Baramore, DT E. Moore, WR T. Marshall, WR T. Moehrig, S S. Samuel, CB A. Ajulari, Edge - although I would stay away b/c of the knee issue and it looks like teams are doing just that. N. Bolton, LB Tutu Atwell, WR C. Basham, DE J. Cox, LB R. Moore, WR D. Brown, WR
I will never even pretend to say I know more than Mathew Berry. He has done an incredible job since he took over. With that said, I would like to see them trade even everything they have left in the draft to move up to get JOK. I just feel like JOK and Newsome are Day 1 starters for this team.
The SI mock has us taking Rondale Moore, Tommy Togiai and Dylan Moses today. I’d be pretty happy with that.
Seems pretty evident that the internet scout community values JOK way higher than NFL teams, so I’m not inclined to want them to give up much to go after him. Berry doesn’t value LBs and maybe they see him more as that than a hybrid or safety. Idk just playing devils advocate here.
It seems like some teams think he’s a tweener (S/LB) which probably hurts his value somewhat. But I think there is value in today’s passing NFL with a LB who can seamlessly drop into S. It really created a lot of versatility for Woods and allows him to disguise some coverages to confuse D’s (go see what Venables did with Simmons). It just requires a DC who knows how to use him.
I love JOK, but using 3-4 picks to move up to the top of the second seems incredibly out of character for them.
I hate this saying. As long as I’ve been watching, there’s only been one Tyreke Hill. He isn’t a type. That’s like calling every decent WR/KR or CB/KR a Devin Hester type. There isn’t a type, there’s one and then a bunch of guys drafted chasing the next him I like Moore, I just loathe this saying
Agreed, it has been used so much this draft cycle. "Every team is looking for their Tyreek Hill!" Uh no shit. They act like the NFL just realized fast guys who can catch are a good thing to have.
This would be a really good 2nd/3rd round https://www.nfl.com/_amp/2021-nfl-d...ign=Twitter_nfl_cfb&__twitter_impression=true
Just want to say I had a great time downtown here in Cleveland for the First Round last night. They really pulled out all the stops and made it a great experience.
Levi was mocked in the first in several drafts I saw over the last few weeks. A few sites have him as the second best DT behind Barmore. NFL.com has him ranked as a guy starting within his first 2 years. Pro comparison is, surprisingly, Sheldon Richardson. Walter Football has Dayo as their 5th ranked DE ahead of guys like Turner, Tryon and Basham. NFL.com has his grade right on the edge of starter within 2 years and backup with the potential to start. Pro comparison is Montez Sweat.
Some actual meat and potatoes stuff today: Spoiler -JOK wouldn’t have been the pick if Newsome was gone -Stokes was the next CB on their board -They have 4-5 WR’s they are looking at, and are higher on Dyami Brown than most know -They’re still open to taking another CB or safety -They’ll watch how the top of the second round unfolds before the decide to do anything
He missed most of his sophomore year with a foot/leg injury, but nothing I'm aware of last two years. He didn't run a 40 at the Pro Day though, so wonder if more to that
We essentially gave up the estimated value of a SEVENTH rounder to move up to take somebody in PFF's top 20 overall board at FIFTY TWO.
They drafted two Day 1 starters on a defense which was the weakness of the team. I do not care what else they do with this draft, to be honest.
