Our draft picks next year set up really well to make some moves. Browns 1st Browns 2nd Browns 3rd Saints 3rd (Draft trade from 74 to 88) Browns 4th Eagles 4th (Avery) Browns 5th Rams 5th (Corbett) Browns 6th Bills 7th
If they don’t feel the need to move up, maybe they could move one of those for an earlier pick in 22. If not, they could really add some depth with those extra mid round picks
Corch there’s a ton of buzz that we’re bringing Higgins back. Rumor is they waited so it didn’t count towards comp picks. Edit to add:
I think we'd be dumb to not bring Higgens back. Higgens, DPJ, OBJ, and Landry has potential to be scary if we can pass protect and not have an idiot calling plays.
Oliver Vernon has a non-guaranteed $15.25 million cap hit this year. Cut his ass and sign Clowney for a milly or two more.
Has a team ever had 3 1000 yard WRs, 2 1000 yard TE and 2 1000 yard RBs in a season? Asking for a friend
I like Hollywood and complained about his absence last season, but the guy has 76 career catches. I'm not sure how much mileage his agent gets out of saying "He's not Damion Ratley" when talking to other teams.
wasn't there a report late last year that Dorsey had a beef with him too and he had been forcing Freddy's hand on the active roster on gamedays?
Obviously stoked and don't want to give money away for free, but weird they didn't sweeten the deal a bit to make it an easier call to not leave, like offer $1.5-1.75m or something. Doesn't seem like they would have been too upset to see him go.
#LSU Tigers fellas, since y’all are Browns fans now, what’s your opinion on Jacob Phillips? I was a little sad we passed on Malik Harrison. I’m hoping you can make me feel better about the pick since he was one of your less heralded stars.
Get to the bye .500 and the back half sets up for a chance to make a run See ya on Oct 11th in the muni lot
in all seriousness, conservatively we should expect 9 wins with that schedule at a minimum Cincy X2 Washington Jacksonville Indianapolis NYG NYJ Pittsburgh X2 (should split) LVG Dallas, Philly, and Houston should be pick'ems or at least close to it. of course it's the browns, so 4-12 is always in play, but given the talent we have and that schedule, a winning season should be expected of this group
You are a fan of this team and think 9 wins at a minimum?? I'm happy to be wrong here but we havent won 9+ games in 13 years.
Yes. Joking aside, there is nothing intrinsic to the organization that causes it to lose games. we lose games because of terrible coaching and terrible personnel. The talent level is higher than it's ever been. Coaching is tbd, but if Stefanski can provide some stability, there's no reason this team shouldn't win more games than it loses. Last year was really the first "disappointing" season we've had in the past decade. Every other year we played down to expectations. I think we'll benefit from having someone who isn't a trucker as our head coach, and i also think we'll benefit from being out of the public spotlight after failing to meet expectations a season ago it really comes down to baker and stefanski
We have won 9 games in 2 seasons since the turn of the century. There is a top down decision making problem in the organization. I hope it changes, but to say I expect 9 wins conservatively would be wishful thinking.
We have more talent now than ever before. I get the history, and I'm not going to be surprised if we end up 6-10 again. But that's not where the expectations should be set with the roster we have. 6-8 wins likely means baker isn't developing and/or we've hired another potato as head coach. maybe that proves to be the case, but I'm gonna hope for the best. And plenty of lousy teams have hit nine wins over the years. We were a few breaks away from managing it a year ago. I don't think it's an unreachable bar to set
That's fine, I envy your optimism and wish I could share it. I've thought the bolded many time in the last twenty years. A few breaks from 9 wins is true, but that is the NFL in general a few plays here or there separate wins from loses. We just have a rich history of not making those plays and I don't think its just luck.
Last year severely lowered my expectations ceiling, which is nice. I'm sure though if we get to August and football is on track to start that will change into
