Oh shit, FotMob is lying! (and i couldn't find it on the espn app until just now) A formal retraction of the disgrace designation is approved.
Bayern scores in 45 seconds because they don’t want to torch my mental health like my Alma mater does
Good thing this isn’t a big game or anything for Phonzie to fucking sleepwalk thru. Dude has checked out.
Sounds like Upamacano will be out a couple of weeks to a month. Addition by subtraction. Won’t matter much as we still have the corpse of Manuel Neuer playing like a 25 year old with a 45 year old’s body. I’ve been saying he’s cooked for a couple of years and now it’s a legit problem.
Harold with a hatty today, featuring two vintage poacher’s goals. Back on top of the table but lost Pavlovich for three months to a broken collarbone so that’s nice.
Today I learned that Timo Horn is now the backup GK at Bochum. Dude was a fixture in the posts at Köln for a decade and then just disappeared. Also, if Kompany doesn’t get his shit together in the Champions League, don’t be surprised if we jump back in the Alonso sweepstakes again. Our director really fucked over Hansi Flick (though it’s worked out well for Barca) and will need to make amends if/when the Kompany experiment fails. He’s learning quickly that Bayern isn’t RBL or BMG. Winning the league is the bare minimum and even that will get you sacked if the UCL ends early.
Also, the history of Bayern/Bochum ultra groups is awesome. They always make scarves with both clubs for our match there. https://fcbayern.com/en/news/2023/09/how-did-the-fan-friendship-between-bayern-and-bochum-begin
So do I. Love that kid almost as much I as loved Zirkzee (still do). He got 20 minutes but should’ve gotten more with us being up big early and Bochum not really able to do anything.
Musiala has a first half hat trick in the Pokal yesterday. He said after the match that they were finalizing a long term extension which might interest Wirtz, as they are BFF. Full disclosure: Wirtz is a superstar in the making, no doubt, and a DFB player (which is important to our board) but he’s going to be another hundo and we’ve already got Paul Wanner who plays the same role. He’s 18 and has played in every match this season on loan at Heidenheim. He played in 6 matches as a 16 year old for us two seasons ago. This is one aspect of our club that I can’t stand. They made this huge push to upgrade our academy and they cultivate these talents and then never give them first team minutes. Look at Arijon Ibrahimovich this weekend. Stud junior player, did well during a loan last season and was on the bench available at Bochum. We were up 3:0 and in complete control of the game. Who gets brought in? Sorry ass Goretzka and old ass Dier. Would’ve been a great time to get a half hour out of Ibra and Adam Aznou, who’s also 18 and a Moroccan national team defender that we poached from Barca’s academy.
I wish we'd have been able to hold on to Hürzeler and see what he might have been able to do with his team in the Bundesliga, but it is what it is
Yeah they did. Bochum is awful. Nothing short of a miracle is going to keep them from relegation. Glad St Pauli got another win, especially over Hoffenheim. Gets them out of the relegation zone for now.
St Pauli only down 1 at the half, and that was on a fucking banger by Musiala. I'll take it. Come on you pirates, let's get our first home Bundesliga goal! A draw would be big out of this one.
The fact that we only scored once shows how well STP played yesterday. We average around 4 goals a game in league play.
