Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Riveting match: Monchengladbach v Stuttgart on ESPN3 These fans are fucking nuts.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Germany is the one Euro nation that has taken a liking to American football, especially with all our soldiers going to town on their women.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread No Friday game Saturday St. Pauli vs. Borussia Monchengladbach Stuttgart vs. Nurnberg Bayern vs. Hoffenheim (GolTV @ 9:30 et) Kaiserslauten vs. Borussia Dortmund (ESPN3.com @ 12:30 et) Wolfsburg vs. Hamburg Schalke vs. Freiburg Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Bayer Leverkusen Sunday Koln vs. Mainz (GolTV @ 10:30 et) Werder Bremen vs. Hannover (ESPN3.com @ 11:30 et)
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Alright since we are almost at the 2/3rd mark, predict the finish of the Top 10 and bottom 3: 1. Dortmund 2. Munich 3. Levurkusen 4. Hamburg 5. Hannover 6. Schalke 7. Mainz 8. Hoffenheim 9. Frieburg 10.Nurnberg Bottom 3 16. Stuttgart-how? 17. Kaiserslautern 18. Monchengladbach At this point its looking like a big club like Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, Werder might be in the relegation playoff. Crazy league to follow.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Just a crazy season so far. Dortmund dominating Mainz, Hannover, and Freiburg challenging for a European spot? Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, Werder in relegation battles? Also a chance a BL2 team could be in the Europa League next year if they win DFB Pokal since Duisburg faces Energie Cottbus in the semis. Although no surprise that Leverkusen is where they're at, just a model of consistency for not a hugely supported club. And it's not like Bayer really throws their financial weight around like VW, Hopp, and other loaded Euro teams.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Couldn't even attempt to predict the finish. I do think with the return of Robbery, we are destined for 2nd. I expect Schalke to build some confidence from the CL and win most of the rest of their games. Mainz could go on another little run and Hoffe could tank. Some of my best friends in Germany are VfB fans so it hurts to see them struggling, but I'd probably pip them as mostl likely for relegation as well. Somehow I just don't see Bremen dropping.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread I'll be honest and say I root for them as much as I root for Bayern. I might be visiting Stuttgart in the fall sometime and would love to catch a match. Hopefully they survive because a lot of good talent comes from there.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Lucas Barrios is one of my favorite players that people dont know much about
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Stuttgart go down 4-2 at Leverkusen. If Monchengladback win today, Stuttgart will be tied for last place. How on earth does a team with that much talent have such a crappy season? Stuttgart have: -4 fringe German National Team players in Cacau, Trasch, Tasci, and Gentner -Kuzmanovi? who starts in the Serbian NT -Pavel Pogrebnyak who sees a lot of PT and sometimes starts for the Russian NT -Harnik who starts for the Austrian NT -Ciprian Macra who starts for Romania -Molinaro who is is a fringe Italian NT player -Boka who has 54 caps for Ivory Coast -Khalid Boulahrouz who was on the Dutch World Cup side and saw some pt
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread They've gone into roo ins ever since we stopped using their kit/crest in FIFA.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Speaking of Stuttgart, a crane collapsed at the stadium leaving the operator in critical condition. There's some bad voodoo going around there at the moment.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Said in the Europa thread that Leverkusen is ballin hard this year. Starting to prefer to watch their games over Roma Ton of talent between Kiebling, Vidal, Sam, Augusto and others
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread I've enjoyed Leverkusen's style over the past few years. Wish they still had Kroos though. Don't forget Simon Rolfes either. He's one of the most underrated players in Germany. Would have probably started over Khedira at WC 2010 if not for an injury. I think they are probably one of the top 5 favorites to win Europa right now.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Stuttgart is the Hertha Berlin of a year ago. Big club, were in Europa and even advance to the knockout rounds, but just can't get it turned around. Plus, Gladbach is playing better since returning from the winter break.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Kroos is my favorite German and my family is German so I root for them after the US. I was so mad he went back to Bayern and yeah Rofles is good. Him and Vidal as the CDM pair is just sick.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread dont worry mats hummels will personally be responsible for like 10 goals against

Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Yes, Sanchez. There were links to Chelsea and Inter during the winter period but Udinese dont want to let him go easy.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Really surprised bvb isn't hitting that 81k capacity number week in and week out. Where is the bvb v bayern game going to be televised this sat?
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread havent looked that forward but look out for the saturday or sunday action threads we always put the tv listings there
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread I was just looking in my Sportacular app and it says tv is na, better not be true Hopefully it'll be live on espn3 and not fucking fsc
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread BVB/Bayern is live on ESPN Deportes, and tape delayed on GolTV at 2:00 et
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread if its on ESPNDeportes it usually means is available on ESPN3.com as well
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Really think Bayern should just forget about Neuer and keep Kraft. Kraft has been playing well this season.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread We're not as a club 100% sold on Neuer or he'd already be in Red. The brass are having a really difficult time settling on a replacement for Oli Kahn. Don't expect Kraft to make it to the first game of next year, but then I didn't expect Butt to last a whole year either. I'm not sure what's going on there as they have averaged 79k (never 80+k) in the past which is still higher than this current dream season by about 500. Only thing I can assume is either the economy, which is actually pretty strong in that region, or that away fans aren't interested in travelling for an almost gaurenteed loss. Regardless, you've got to be impressed with some of the smaller club, especially Hoffenheim, and those still packing stadiums even though it is fairly clear at this point the are relegation bound.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Has Bayern given Adler a look? If not for an injury, he was likely to start over Neuer at the WC. He's only 26, so he still has a long career ahead.

Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Ridiculous amount of fail. Adler was never a candidate for the GK position at FCB, not sure why.

Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread Other than an awful PK miss, Diego is having a great first half and looks like he's getting his form back.
Re: '10-'11 Bundesliga Thread he was subbed in at center half for the italy friendly and was immediately and personally responsible for like 3 chances and the eventual equalizer whereas pre-hummels the impotent italian attack was easily dealt with and germany was toying with the wops
