I played the beta and it was pretty cool. I skipped on Cold War and that’s the first title I’ve never played since MW2
Vanguard is kinda fun. Took me a few times to get my settings adjusted but this shit slaps. I actually quit playing Cold War, went back to Modern Warfare just to get back into this play style groove.
I’m an old man with stiff fingers/joints, so my stick control is aggressively poor at higher sensitivity. Changed the horizontal and vertical to 4 (medium) and I’ll slowly creep it up the more I play. I also changed all the zoom sensitivity from 1 to 0.7. At 1 i was wildly inaccurate.
I saw a video that mentioned turning off the blur settings. Think there are two. I did it, but haven't really noticed a difference. Still come in last every game so it didn't make me any worse
definitely turn off blur and turn up Field of View to the max. regular multiplayer is pretty cool - I like the setting where you can adjust the intensity or whatever for # of total players on the map. 8v8 Search (I think this is on Intense mode or whatever the furthest right is) has been pretty fun since the maps aren't very big you don't much camping / wait time if you die. the Champion Hill or whatever 3v3 round robin mode is super fun Zombies mode I feel like they just put this in there to have something at release but obviously this zombie mode is a very vanilla one compared to most. If they don't bring in something like the Outbreak mode from CW that's a large scale long-term type engagement I'll be a little upset. That was a huge step forward and there needs to be some type of mode like that for when you just wanna fuck up some zombs.
Much more fast paced and fast TTK. Probably too many kill streaks. But if you’re willing to adjust your play style a little bit it’s a lot of fun. DM me if you wanna play some TDM or domination.
Really enjoyed the multiplayer. It’s been awhile that I’ve played some good CoD multi and I’ll end up buying it because of nostalgia and the zombies and campaign
Love Vanguard multiplayer so far. Just was able to place an order with Walmart for a PS5 doesn’t arrive until 12/14 though
MW2 is mid I’ve played 5 games already on the beta and i actually liked vanguard better and vanguard is bad
Did you like MW2019? I'm looking forward to playing the beta this weekend. I've thoroughly enjoyed every version of MW that's ever come out. Never cared for any of the others besides BO2
yeah, beta is better this weekend too many campers last weekend and it felt like you got penalized for moving
Need more games where the objective moves. TDM and Dom kinda suck IMO. I always TDM was worse in regards to campers. I’m a run and gun guy.
I feel like it was like that early in MW2019 which gave way to people carrying the sawed off 2-shot shotgun as a secondary to counter the camping. After a while I pretty much exclusively played S&D and camping wasn't as much of a problem in that mode
Is it a little slower paced this time? I’m not very good and being a run and gun guy, I’m more of a hold down a building or part of the map player (not camping). I enjoyed COD when there was some strategy involved to get to a objective or keeping a team locked on one side of the map, not having to watch your back or just run like a mad man to get kills.
is overkill broken? it only lets me select the default shotgun as a secondary and no other guns edit: nvm you gotta unlock all the other guns I'm dumb
at first I wasn't a fan of the way the gun progression goes with the different version trees inside each gun, but they progress pretty damn fast and I think it'll add a lot of gun variety in the game instead of everyone running the same "meta" for each weapon. Big fan of the M4 Hurricane with XTen Razor muzzle, 4WM Laser, Cronen dot, Quicksilver collapsed stock and Phantom grip. Nice little SMG version of the M4 Also have yet to even see a fucking 2-3x scope in any of the M4 trees to unlock. I need that VLK 3.0 (supposedly was only 2x magnification per reddit data people) for a mid-long range AR
I don’t know what I did/changed, but when I first logged on and changed my settings I was getting 120+ FPS. now I can’t get above 90. with a 3070 Ti
So help a old COD player adjust to the new games. How are guys killing me so fast with their aim? I understand it’s aim assist but it just seems like I try ads first and have a bead on a guy and he just beats me anyway. I’ve adjusted my sensitivity a little and that helped but it just seems like guys lock into me way faster than I do them.
Gotta get used to the muscle memory of hitting both triggers at once. Fire off a couple of rounds while the ADS animation occurs. Since the time to kill is only like 4 shots anyways when you're within ~30m hitting 1-2 shots before you're in full ADS is crucial. I see it in kill cams whenever I'm questioning how I got out-gunned. It's just something you gotta have as second nature in MW/Warzone. I lost it due to playing nothing but Apex for the past ~8 months but it's coming back pretty quickly.
It still doesn’t make any sense to me. Why do I have to unlock a red dot by leveling up 3 guns, instead of just using the gun I want to? I hate when games make you play their way, instead of the way I want. I don’t want to use some shitty BR to unlock a red dot, I want to use the M4.
what’s even more odd is that once you unlock an attachment for one gun, if that attachment fits on another type of gun altogether then it’s unlocked across the board ie- the “tactical fore grip” from MW19 is unlocked in the Landsman 762 base tree but once it’s unlocked there you can put it on the M4… but it’s not unlockable anywhere in the M4’s 5 trees I think the decision was a combination of the encouraging diversity in gun choices and also not being able to just equip a gun in shipment + popping a 2x weapon XP token and having that guns Meta in ~2 hours. People who don’t buy MW and just download the free play Warzone2 are gonna have to play 100s of games in WZ to build anything close to a Meta weapon, which I’m a fan of.
At first you can only use base ARs of each weapon. Starting with the M4. You unlock different “chamber attachments” (no idea what else to call it) that would turn the M4 into an SMG or a Battle Rifle (like the MW19 SCAR) or an LMG version. once you unlock those chambers you can see those versions of the gun unlock in each weapon category for you to pick and upgrade M4 AR = FSS Hurricane SMG Landsman AR = MP5 SMG from what I can tell snipers are autonomous categories and unlock specifically by leveling up your main XP, as well as some SMG/Shotguns that don’t start as a form of AR. if you go to build a loadout you can just go to each gun that’s locked and if it says under the description in the top left “Unlocks at Level X” = it’s an autonomous weapon that unlocks using base XP. If it doesn’t say that there’s a level it unlocks at (there’s just nothing written under the description) then it’s a version of another gun you have to unlock first.
Got one mission left. By far my favorite campaign of any FPS. Really good mix of black hawk down, Sicario and Bourne Identity. Playing on hardened difficulty and haven’t faced any parts that made me rage quit or lower difficulty. Didn’t know about the M4 blueprint you get from Veteran mode so I’ll probably re-run it on that next week. Heavy armored enemies are a little spongey but actually make the game a challenge. underwater mission 2 was one of the cooler missions of any game I’ve played amsterdam was just visually stunning. Graphics and cut scenes look like movies and not games at some points
