Dumb to even suggest this given Where Eagles Dare marathon daily stepping but has TMB ever done a step challenge? Always difficult to decide on a device/app platform. I used Stridekick for a family step challenge for months but the app was kind of a pain. Or just do honor system google sheet report steps daily
wed continues to make me think he's wildly over caffeinated/stimulated stressing me out thinking of all that pacing around all day
I have seen quite a few people....mainly women...walking with these weighted vests in the neighborhood lately. Appears to be the new fad. I admit that I'm sort of intrigued by it as a daily 10k stepper
I did one at work with a buddy of mine who liked to walk and we also were both taking public transit. We destroyed the field
I have a 30lb vest I wear often. Daniel Ocean is a vester too There are some recent studies showing they are beneficial and you're body has some gravity sensors that trick it to think it is heavier and your body burns more calories. Body builder did it recently in show prep and it apparently helped
Probably.... nothing too crazy tho, but walking isn't really taxing on your system so you can kinda just do it while still performing anything else. 10 min here or there adds up over the day
I looked them up a lot before I got one. Everything I read said it’s extremely beneficial. Only thing I hate is the way it feels on my shoulders. It’s a great low impact way to build muscle and burn fat.
Mine is all one piece and it's super annoying to get on and off. Wish I got one with straps on the sides. No issues on shoulders. It's like a military vest
Bought this one when covid hit. Started wearing it again for incline walks on the treadmill, it’s pretty comfortable but only 20 lbs
You don't go "rucking" in the mountains. You don't ruck for multiple days. Ruck is basically a synonym for elephant walking
Yea but rucking is dumb With backpacking you get sick mnt views that you can post on Instagram for likes and get that sweet dopamine hit before shutting the apl down and remembering life is actually meaningless
I agree we should travel more and take time to enjoy life. But, we are discussing fitness and weighted vests so that’s why “rucking” was more appropriate than traveling.
A few studies came out last year on humans. Here is one. https://www.menshealth.com/uk/build.../weighted-vest-additional-fat-loss/#the-study
I ruck with a 40 lb vest once a week with the wife and dog. There are a few large hills we work up and it’s pretty challenging and a good off day activity from running/lifting. It’s a great activity for someone to get into if they aren’t in great shape and may be intimidated by running a couple of miles.
My feet are generally pretty callused, but I ended up with massive blisters on the balls of my feet under the calluses.
I have no real opinion on them but the biggest tool that I know just ran a marathon wearing a weighted vest
He’s a tool for starting an instagram account about working out and Microsoft excel formulas, amongst many other things. Motivational quotes while running in the snow kind of guy. He deleted the account after not making it as an influencer
For the soccer team in college we had the 2 miles in under 12 minutes fitness test on the first day of camp. I had never run timed distances and had no idea of pacing. I ran the first mile in 5:15, basically died, and walked/sprinted the second in 6:35 to get in under 12. 7-8 years and probably 10,000 later I ran a 5K where my best mile was 8+ minutes. I’m probably in between those two levels of health now, but I’m far too lazy to find out what that means.
