@ringerpodppl Russillo scoffing at 8 minute mile being really slow and achievable for most dudes. Guy who runs said 8 min is a solid mile and both non runners thought that was way too high/low standard.
I do not understand your syntax So Russillo was saying ppl should be able to run it, or it would be way too difficult? Both non runners thought too high/low standard? Did this pod validate me or not?!
I think Josey Wales is saying that the pod cast was saying that 8 minute miles is really good and that most people can’t do that. Seems like the runner was in agreement while non runners don’t understand how hard it is so they couldn’t agree with it being too difficult or easily attained
I honestly think most people don’t understand how difficult certain things are or they just lie. I don’t think 8 minute miles are easy and don’t believe most people can do it. I don’t think most people can bench 225 let alone 315. 25-30 push-ups for most people are probably difficult and so are pull ups. Running a 10k without stopping is something I don’t think the average person can do
Did a quick test mile while my son was warming up before his soccer match today. 7:32 for the first mile.
I don't disagree that most of the population can't do those feats of strength, but I don't think theyre all terribly difficult. An 8 minute mile isn't easy, but is also very achievable with training. Moderate difficulty? I'd argue benching 225 would be the most difficult, especially for ppl with no weight lifting experience. Pull-ups and push-ups can be achieved with some training. Theyre all doable with discipline, imo. And obviously depends on the individual's fitness level beforehand. idk I'm rambling and just had my first beer after a big hike.
Just about everything is achievable with training. The amount of training is what makes it difficult imo. And imo people underestimate the amount of time and work required.
My b. Runner: 8 min mile for a normal person is good Ryen and Kyle: wow that’s slow. Breaking 6 is good. Next breath was that 8 pull ups is really good. His standards made no sense.
So many people haven’t done anything athletic since HS/college and remember running a 6 minute mile in PE not realizing they’d puke after the second lap today.
Gotta think real pitching. BP they’re just laying it in there and it gives you a shot. Real pitching would be much tougher.
Well yeah I think I could hit it out in BP but not if I have to figure out if I'm getting a fastball cutter or slurve
I do F45 4/5 times a week. Don’t run much because I’m in my 40s but 8 minute mile is achievable for most in shape people with training I think. I did dead hang my body weight for over a minute which is another one that someone told me was a test of fitness.
Hello. I am running the NYC Marathon next week and would love support from the Chat. I put a thread on the donor board so if you could share a few bucks please take a look
