Applied for tickets in the WC. 4 tickets in category 1 comes to about $1000 American. If Canada doesn’t make it out of the group stage you can sell the ticket back to fifa. Should have an idea if we got them by mid March.
It’s been discussed. Not a preferred option but one that might be explored. Feel like applying is going to jinx all of this. Canada is due for a let down. Nobody wins six in a row, beating USA and Mexico.
1) No such thing as a jinx. 2) Canada is up 8 on Panama with 9 possible points left and 9 on Costa Rica with possible 9 left. 1 point gained (or dropped by CR) guarantees top 4 and 2 points gained (or dropped by Panama) guarantees top 3. Canada is in.
I don’t believe in jinxes either, but it is re-assuring that the very slim worst case from this window is place #4 against likely New Zealand
My brother and buddy are going to Costa Rica for the first game. I’ll be at the one in Toronto. Anyone else going?
Kid is talented for sure. Can slow the game down and move the ball, can play with it in his feet and can come up from the back as well. Not too familiar with his pace tho. Also think he can play the 10 spot. If a WC roster is 23 he won’t be there but I can see him being on a 26 man roster. Word was Liverpool loves him but not at that price.
They still haven’t gone on sale for Toronto. When they do you’ll need to get in line fast. Probably be next Friday.
In the end I’ve been assured we will get tickets thru contacts. But when we find out is a different matter… will flight prices continue to be thru the roof? Will there be any accommodations left?
Seems like he’s having a good start with Montreal. Can push the ball forward. That’s a position we need to fill going forward.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/art...25-man-roster-for-final-world-cup-qualifiers/ A victory over Costa Rica would automatically clinch a spot at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar this November. A Canada draw, plus Panama and the U.S. failing to beat Honduras and Mexico, respectively, would also be enough. Even a Canadian loss along with Panama not defeating Honduras and the U.S. losing to Mexico would secure the berth.
Fear for tonight is too many European players aren’t match fit and Vittoria and Adekugbe sitting it due to cards. It will be tough but Canada has depth and have risen to the challenge each time. Hope the pitch is in good enough shape that we can counter CR with pace.
