They have some Palisades for like a thousand over sticker in Atlanta. That might be the best I can do right now.
I like them and the teluride. Seems to be more of the palisade around. What's up with the carnivals? Are they impossible to find as well?
I think they are just too new. We are looking at vans today and I was planning on doing something used but I would probably go new for one of them. They look pretty cool.
Yeah we can't keep them instock either. It's those and the Telluride's that we go over MSRP on. Everything else is MSRP, but we can't keep anything else instock either. Not sure if putting addendum on the other models would slow things down.
I like them both. Kind of prefer Palisade interior. I'll probably buy whichever one I stumble across first.
Ive sold both and I lost a lot more sales to the Telluride when I was at Hyundai...mainly because of styling. Now in the last month Ive lost two sales because the Palisade was available. One customer told me the prefered the Telly but had to have something now. Both are fine vehicles. With the Telluride having the edge Im sure in a few yesrs when they redesign these things Hyundai will come out swinging. Its a very popular segment. Im happy with my Telluride. It does everything well.
If one gets on the lot unclaimed its gone within hours. Over 80% of what we've been selling is pre-sold. A lot of ppl havent even test drove the model theyre buying.
I’m finally going to start searching for a new car here soon. I’m tempted to just buy a new car since the used cars are priced so high anyways. With the supply issues going on what is the best route to actually find a car? Im thinking I’ll go with another Subaru Legacy or maybe an Impreza.
I picked what I wanted and then started an outward spiral contacting dealers to see what they had until I landed on something that checked my boxes.
Apparently I can't get the all black tailgate unless I get the secondary color for the running boards. wtf. And I hate the tailgate on this but willing to live with it. Anyways this is close to being finalized getting a hybrid F-150, apparently if I wait on the full electric I'll continually have no idea on actual delivery. Feel free to talk me out of it if anyone has had Ford issues especially with the hybrid F-150. https://shop.ford.com/build/f150/#/...AWD.99D.CCAB.96W.91S.43V.67A.RETAIL.T24.SS5.]
I assume with the market the way it is there’s not much room for haggling? I figure if I’m looking for a 2021 or 2022 the prices will all be pretty similar anyways.
General, I think that’s probably how it is. You also never know when you’re going to catch a sales team that’s up against a target or something that incentivizes them to cut a deal to get something out the door before lunch.
With the chip shortage, I have opened up the radius for searching for a new car, eg beyond 100 miles away. Today, I saw a car with the package and specific option (specifically second row bench, not bucket seats) on Chevrolet.com. Its out of state so I've never looked at their inventory, nor dealt with them. I call the dealership and ask if it has been spoken for/presold. The front desk girl says it is available and that a salesperson will call me back later to discuss. I get a call shortly thereafter and the salesperson informs me that their dealership is including a $12,900 dealer market adjustment as a surcharge on the vehicle. I had negotiated one dealer from 10k > 7k w/ other concessions before hitting a wall, but I didn't even try this time. I understand s/d but there must be some incredibly desperate people out there playing this game for dealerships, with a straight face, to ask for these figures.
I was talking to a guy at work yesterday and kind of sarcastically said it might somehow end up being a better decision to lease a car for a few years and let stuff cool down rather than paying 10K+, maybe that’s not so crazy
I haven’t really looked, but the couple of commercials/billboards the monthly price didn’t seem too crazy but I could be wrong.
Lease prices are higher as well. But at least you are only locking into that lease for 3 years. Nevermind that inevitably when supply comes back every dealership will want to buy out that lease to get you into a new one with their dealership. Leasing is absolutely the way to go right now.
I haven't driven a Bronco but I have been in one and it was pretty lack luster tonsay the least. Shittier fit and finish versus a Wrangler. Bad cheap plastic and flimsy. I was disappointed cause I want to get into one of these in a few years but that first impression was pretty bad.
Anyone go through the lease buyout process with Chrysler? Likely going to buy it at he residual. Is it as simple as sending them a check, or they just ACH your account?
Hello yes I bought a 2020 4Runner last week and am very pleased with my decision Got the premium SRE package with sunroof, 4wd, 3rd row and a sweet little outlet in the back for camping and whatnot for under $40K and just over 20K miles.
There's a huge toyota dealership here Charles Maund and their prices on everything beat every other place I looked: dealerships, internet dealers that deliver, etc. I think they get a lot of their inventory from places like Apple Leasing after initial new car leases finish their terms. Great warranty and maintenance coverage for the first 5 years too. I originally looked at leasing and a couple of the other Toyota dealerships around here advertised lease deals on 2021 4Runners at 2750 down + ~360/mo. Called both places and neither one had any 2021 stock left that applied to that deal and it seemed like they used that advertisement to get you in the door to try and lease you a 2022 model at 5000 down + ~700/mo.... essentially to get my phone number so their salespeople could call me every 3-4 days trying to offer shit that I had no interest in. Was a huge turn off tbh. Take that 2021 deal off your website if you don't have the inventory to fill it
Hyundai dealer near me has a bunch of palisades. Have had them for an a while. Messaged them yesterday and said I wasn't really in need but I was interested in buying a palisade if I could find one for msrp. They called me immediately. Told me what a great sale they were having.. Then told me it was 6k over sticker. No thank you.
Just put the deposit down on ‘22 Sienna. Got to good a deal on my wife’s 2016 Odyssey and got the new one below msrp. Feel like that’s a win in this world right now.
I have deposits down on a Rivian R1S and an F150 lightning. I’d say I have a 50/50 shot of getting a new car by 2023. Def a different car buying experience.
Thinking I might just bite the bullet and put down a deposit and build/order a new Subaru Legacy. Emailed a sales rep at a local dealer today and she said that it usually takes 8-12 weeks to get it once its ordered but if a comparable vehicle comes in before that I would have the chance to buy that and they would just sell the one I ordered. I am hoping if I go that route I might be able to avoid some of the crazy price increases. My 2011 Legacy has been good to me, but its at like 143K miles and the brakes were feeling a little weird this morning lol figure I might as well be proactive or else I will be mad I waited around.
The hell with that. Have looked to see what trade-in value for my car is and it's about $17k over what I owe on it. So yeah market is messed up right now if prices are off that much.
The only thing I don't like about the new ones is that you can't take the seats out. I don't understand that at all. The new Odyssey is too spaceship-y for me. We went with a recent Sienna (pre-'22). The powertrain is...weird. 1st gear is short like 1-ton truck short, and you can't force a 2nd gear start.
Lurking in here, 2016 Kia Sorento engine crapped out last week. I’m fairly confident that it’s covered under the life time warranty Kia gave out to settle the class action against them, but every dealer in the area is 6-8 weeks before they’ll even be able to look at it so I’m trying to convince the wife to buy a new car as I don’t think we’re gonna survive the winter with a 10 year old Corolla as our only vehicle.
What's the play here? Do you just buy with no trade and wait till the warranty fixes the Kia then sell it?
My thought is trade in the Corolla and buy, we can get by with one car since we are both still working at home, but Corolla with two tall adults and a toddler doesn’t work. Probably keep the Kia if all goes well as second vehicle, though have a mechanic who has offered to beat any offer dealer gives us with or without an engine.
This is exactly what I’m looking for, too. My company car is a 2020 rav4 and it’s great. Always wanted a 4Runner, though
I like it. Just so premium compared to my 04 LT. It wasn't cheap, but I did not pay a market adjustment.
